Dan looked at me confused, he raised his hands to try and beg forgiveness. I was raging inside. Every part of my body was on fire with anger. I had never felt so betrayed and angry before towards anyone. It scared me a little.“Leila, please can we talk.” Dan begged.“Did you lie? Did you delete messages and lie to me?!” I snapped.“Leila, please.”“Did you or did you not?” I screamed at him with tears in my eyes.“Yes, but I didn’t know if you would choose me any other way.”Rage built inside of me. In a flash I saw every bit of betrayal in front of me and I slapped him across the face. The sting on my palm lingered for a while afterwards as I turned and walked away. I heard the intake of breath from Claire and Lucas as they walked out into the situation. As I was walking back to the car Dan grabbed my wrist. I spun on my heels and growled at him to let go of me. His grip was so tight it was burning my skin. Nick warned him to let go of me. Dan refused and began to pull at me. In a

Mom walked into the room smiling. She stroked my hair and kissed the top of my head while I was making my sandwiches for work. The feeling of peace and happiness was immense and overwhelming. As I walked to pack my lunch into my bag, I passed my father in the home office working away. Already working hard this early. Hopefully one day I will have a job I take the same amount of pride and dedication to as he does. Waving goodbye, I stepped out onto the driveway and climbed into my car. The drive was quiet, barely any cars on the road. The simplicity of life was beautiful.I awoke with a smile on my face. As realisation sat in, my emotions quickly changed. Upon checking the clock on the bedside table and it was still early, 5:47am. There was no way I could get back to sleep so I dragged myself out of bed and headed to get a drink of water from the kitchen. After a few sips of water, my eyes were caught by the lights out the windows. I stood in front of the window watching the lights ac

I sat in silence for a while. I could not comprehend how someone who supposedly loved me could say things like that. It wasn’t long before we pulled onto my street. As Nick pulled up outside, Clare’s car was on the drive. I wanted to see Claire and I wanted to ask her so many questions but the only thing I could think was that once again she had a choice between me and her brother and once again, she chose her brother. I felt rage building inside once more with the betrayal. Nick took my hand in his and gave it a little squeeze before exiting the car. He held my door open and offered me his hand. Shakily, I took it and stood with a big intake of breath. I pushed the front door open and looked around gingerly. There was no sign of anyone. I breathed a sigh of relief. I asked Nick to wait downstairs and rushed upstairs. I pulled a large gym bag from under my bed and filled it with as many clothes from my drawers and wardrobe as I could. As I was leaving something was stopping me in my

“LEILA!” I shot awake. Water splashed everywhere. “You were having a nightmare.” Nicks voice was instantly calming and grounding. He grabbed a towel and offered it to me. I stood and wrapped it around me. I looked to see the amount of water I had spilt out of the tub. “I’m sorry, I should clean this up.”“Don’t be silly. I just want to know if you are alright?”I nodded a little shaken. “Meet me in the living room when you’re ready.”I nodded and headed to my room. I grabbed some comfy clothes out of my drawer but then had a devilish thought. I put my clothes back and headed over to Nick’s room. Upon opening his wardrobe, I found an array of what I was searching for. I grabbed one of his white shirts and slipped it on. With a smile I headed into the living room. His eyes became ablaze when he saw me, and that wicked smile flashed across his face. He stood up from the sofa and walked over to me. A gentle kiss passed my lips, so soft it was almost invisible. He stepped back

Nick placed a gentle hand on my shoulder and let out a deep sigh. The sigh pierced through me, and I felt like I was going to shatter. I stepped out of the room and walked into the living room. I looked out of the window at the lights. My world felt like it was falling apart. I heard his footsteps in the room behind me. He stood next to me watching the lights. I saw his face in his reflection in the window and it was hard to read. I felt his fingers brush against mine and a piercing fire run through my body. A few seconds later his fingers were twisted around mine and he was smiling. I was confused. I turned and looked up at him. “Why are you smiling?” I asked. He spun me and his lips came smashing into mine. His kiss was deeper and more passionate than ever before. My mind whirled, it made me feel dizzy, my knees became weak. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into him. There was no space between us anymore. His tongue was against mine; I offered no resistance. He pu
