Logan“Hey, love. I am sorry, I had to drop Mom at her friend’s place. I hope I hadn’t made you and Lucas wait for long.”Raelynn took hurried steps towards me and wrapped her slender arms around me for a tight hug. The mention of his mother made me remember the bruise on Tessa’s arm. I decided to talk about it later because I’d not tolerate such kind of hostility.I didn’t want them to hurt her just because they think that she took Raelynn’s place when she had already agreed to take her exit.“It’s okay, we arrived here five minutes ago.” I said and paused before holding her hands.“Ray, he doesn’t know that you’re joining us. You know how stubborn he is. He’d not leave Tessa if I had told him about you. So, be patient with him and don’t mind if he says some rude words because he’s still upset with you for misbehaving with Tessa.”Her smile dropped.“Lucas is my son. How could she brainwash him against me? I told you, Logan if she keeps stealing Lucas’ time when I am doing my best to

Tessa Although, I tried my best to focus on my work after coming back home, I couldn’t stop thinking about Lucas whom his father had taken to meet his biological mother.Lucas wasn’t fond of Raelynn and whenever she’s around, his insecurities kicked in. I hoped Logan had handled the meeting with caution.Since, I had nothing much to do, I decided to cook my own dinner because Logan texted me that they’d have their dinner outside. I gave the house staff an early leave. I had no reason to wait for them. Going for a simple meal consisting salad and spaghetti.I had started packing my things because I didn’t wish to spend another second in Logan’s house as soon as I sign the divorce papers.Picking my plate and a glass of wine, I decided to watch a movie to kill time in an empty house but I could barely focus on the TV screen. My mind drifted off to their date.Hardly ten minutes passed when my phone vibrated with a text alert and I found a message from my aunt which was enough to ruin m

Tessa“Kelly, you can tell me anything. You know me. I love Lucas and for his future, it’s important for me to know if I am leaving him in the safe hands.” I said once we were alone.“Ma’am, we can’t talk inside the house because one of the maids informs everything to Mrs. Susan Cowper. Please, my name shouldn’t come out because you know Mr. Wilferd, he’ll believe Ms. Cowper and her mother over everyone.” She said in a hesitated tone.I was shocked. There was an informer inside the house. I wondered how Susan had every single update on my married life for last four years but Kelly was right. Logan would unleash his wrath on poor Kelly so I had to handle it on my own.“Kelly, I’ll be careful from now onwards. Thank you for telling me but now I need you to tell me what you have observed about Raelynn?” I asked her.“Initially, I thought she was a first-time mother and it’s very natural for young mothers to be very sceptic about motherhood but the way she used to ignore a crying new born

Tessa We took Lucas home. The ride was filled with heavy silence except the occasional message alerts or calls on Logan’s phone which he didn’t receive. We had a rough time with the lawyer couple but Logan had an upper hand over them.No one messes up with Logan Wilferd.“Kelly, take Lucas to his room and make him eat some fruits.” I said to Kelly.Lucas was quietly following behind me but his fist was clutching the hem of my dress.“Sure, Ma’am.” She nodded and bent down to hold Lucas’ hand, “Master Lucas, please, come with me.” She said to him but Lucas wasn’t ready to leave me.“Luke, go with Kelly. I need to speak with your Dad about Jason and his family. I’ll be with you shortly.” I softly convinced my son to go to his room.“I am sorry, Mom, Dad. I did a bad thing.” Lucas apologized to us in a low tone.I could feel regret in his tone.“Lucas, Mom and Dad aren’t mad at you because you weren’t wrong but please, be my good boy and don’t do it again. We shouldn’t hurt others physic

Tessa The ride back home was filled with heavy awkwardness. We didn’t stay for long at the party because Lucas was tired and he had school next day. Lucas was sitting between us so it gave me some space to breathe normally. Logan’s intense stares whenever Adrian tried to talk to me, even he was only being friendly, I couldn’t miss how Logan’s gaze used to get dark. When we reached home, Logan silently carried a sleeping Lucas while I walked ahead of them. The heels were killing me so I wanted to get rid of them badly and I was completely exhausted, both mentally and physically.“Why didn’t you tell me that you wanted to work?”Logan’s unexpected question froze me on my spot.Did he overhear my conversation with Mcnight siblings?I slowly turned around and found him standing at a meter’s distance from me.“I do not understand in what context you asked me this question?” I partially pretended to not understand his question.“Mrs. Xi told me how you wanted to work but chose the opposit
