Lyra's POVKaelen’s lips brushed slowly along the edge of my ear, and his hand ran through my long, dark hair as he leans in for a kiss. "Don't we need to wait a little, to make this more magical moment?" I asked because I couldn't silence the voice of doubt that was telling me not to. This wasn't how I imagined my first time to go. I wanted It to be special, I wanted It to be on my wedding night, I wanted my virginity to be a precious gift to my mate Kaelen, after he had marked me and shown to the whole pack that we belong together. But him not making it known to everyone worried me. "I love you Lyra and I can't wait any longer to have you" Kaelen said, holding my hands and spinning me around. "You look so beautiful and absolutely breathtaking in this dress but I bet you would look better without it" Kaelen complimented and I blushed a bit. "I just want to know" he cut short, placing a kiss on my forehead but I couldn't shake the feeling of not belonging gnawing deep inside

Lyra's POV I squeezed my eyes half shut and tried to look at the person in front of me. Everything was hazy, but I made another attempt at focusing my gaze on the man with the sorted touch. My heart skipped and my face twisted. As soon as I glanced at him I was repulsed. He brought his hand down on my shoulder and gripped me tightly, those worried eyes looked up at me. "Are you okay? Should I call someone to check that for you?" Kaelen looked down on the wounds inflicted on me. His tone… they made me furious and I gritted my teeth in anger. What was he doing ? Why was he staring at me like that? I could sense that he had a reason for being here. His current behavior was somewhat at odds with the seething expression I saw on his face when I turned him down that day. “Fucking take your hands off me, you asshole!” I growled at him and coughed as my throat was dry and scratchy. “Shh, I don’t mean to hurt you, Lyra. I came straight here as soon as I heard about what was done to y

Lyra's POVa sudden jolting sensation woke me up from deep sleep. I laid still as my heart pounded in my chest, making me immediately open my eyes. After I had dealt with the dizziness for a bit, I attempted to take in my surroundings. The room was dark, with the light from the dim lamplight on the bed stand.I was trying to wipe away the haze of sleep when a sharp, blinding pain ran through my body like a bolt of lightning, making me breathe out in pain and reminding me about what had happened earlier. How I was tied up and beaten to a pulp.It seemed like thousands of needles pricked at my skin, and the feeling grew worse and worse with every moment. I can recall being pursued in the forest after fleeing and one of the men coming up to me and attempting to catch me. Panic seized me as I tried to identify the source of this incomprehensible pain. But I felt how numb it got in some areas of my body. How long have I been asleep? Summoning my strength to concentrate, I made an atte

Lyra's POV The continued buzzing of my phone became disturbing to the ears as I was forced to pick up the call even if I already knew what my mother was still going to say, not as if she was going to side with me other than agreeing with those people rather than agreeing with me. I took a deep breath in, as I pressed on the receive button to answer the call, and the first thing I heard was her asking me where I ran to. And she continued "Do you think running away would stop you from receiving the punishment you have brought on yourself? You better return here immediately and face your punishment for disturbing, disrupting the pack by your actions, and apologize for your childishness to Kaelen and the pack or face the consequences of the crime you committed." She uttered with command. "Mother, I will not return back to that pack. I never did anything wrong. All I did was to reject Kaelen and they all chose to treat me with cruel judgment. Kaelen should be the one to apologize fo

Lyra's POVI stared at the burly figure with my lips still parted. His eyes were staring back at me with a look of distrust written on his face. Something about him was unsettling, and it brought a knot to my stomach. "What are you doing here?" He asked directly, and I swallowed painfully. What did he mean by that? Couldn't he see Vaelin right beside me? And as if he heard my thoughts, he turned to look at Vaelin. "I haven't seen her before. Why are you escorting a stranger through the Pack? What if--" he continued but Vaelin interrupted. "Don't worry, she isn't a threat to us," he replied calmly, but the man seemed unconvinced and his eyes still flared daggers at me. "She doesn't look trustworthy. She might be a thief, or someone sent her here for a reason. How are you sure that she isn't here to cause trouble? Have you seen her before? She shouldn't be here. I can smell something bad from her," he retorted, and he eyed me with those disturbing eyes. "Why would I try to h
