~Selene~I close my eyes tighter and continue my chant. There are many deities who believe that humans are useless creatures, but I don’t share that sentiment. They bring some interesting aspects to life, and I’ve been guilty of indulging once or twice.Meditation was something that drew me in the instant that I saw it. I like to do it from time to time. I have no idea what’s supposed to go on in my mind as I do it, but I enjoy the experience just the same. The corner of my lips turns upward slightly. “Nyx, what a surprise. You must be slumming it to be up here.” I slowly open my eyes to find her standing in front of me.She’s a beautiful creature, the Goddess of the Night. Some would say that she’s my sister, and if we go by human standards, maybe she is. I won’t really claim her one way or another. She’s someone I know and have known my entire existence. I think that’s enough in terms of identification. “How the hell do you do that every time I see you? I have no scent and I made no

~Akia~I didn’t know what to do with myself after Atlas asked me out. I’ve never really been asked out that much in my life, except for Matt and Scott. This is different because I know, or at least I hope, he won’t disappear after that. I could feel how nervous he was, and it was so cute. The only issue is that I have nothing to wear. I’ve been here with no personal items. After I said yes to Atlas, Ares left us, but his demeanor was off. I don’t know why, but I decided to worry about that later. Atlas left shortly after, as if he couldn’t wait to get away from me. I don’t think it was anything personal; he’s just a really nervous guy. I found an Omega to show me to my room and have been resting since. My life has taken a strange turn in a short amount of time. I was a loner, scared to reach out to anyone. I was afraid that the moment I got close to someone, he would find out and make me pay. Or worse, make them pay like he did my parents. I never thought I’d find my fated mate, nor t

~Akia~I can honestly say that I’ve never been in this situation before. I felt the disdain dripping from that salesgirl the moment we walked in. I didn’t want to draw attention to it, so I ignored it. I’ve heard talk of the Brown triplets, so I figured that I’d just have to deal with something like this. I didn’t expect Atlas to notice or defend me like he did.I didn’t know that his name carried so much weight. I’m not going to lie, I don’t know anything about the business world. If their reaction is anything to go by, my mate is a big name among businessmen. I guess I should look him up to be fully aware. You should have done that already. It isn’t like I’ve had an opportunity to do that. I’ve been at their pack without a phone, remember. Bree shakes her head and sits back.I continue walking with Atlas as we are led into a room in the back of the store. It looks like a private viewing room, and I have to hold the whistle that wants to fall from my mouth. I’ve never seen or experi

~Akia~We sit across from each other at the back of a coffee shop. I have an iced latte, and Atlas has a black coffee. We have different pastries in front of us, and I’ve been nibbling. I have to admit that I didn’t expect our date to end up here. “I… I’m sorry.” I look up at Atlas, wondering what the problem is. “I didn’t know what to plan for us. I’ve never done this before, and I’m still getting to know you.” I sit back in my chair and smile.“This is perfect for a first date. It gives us the opportunity to get to know each other without the interruptions.” Atlas nods, but he seems very unsure. “Tell me something about yourself that no one else knows.” Atlas looks around us as if he’s looking for the answer to my question. I sit quietly and wait for him to answer.“Well, I…” Atlas sits back and runs a hand down his face. “I’m an amazing cook.” I tilt my head to the side in an attempt to catch the joke on his face. “What? Don’t believe me?”“I’m not one to try to call someone else a

I check my surroundings as I try to find that really comfortable spot. “Good call. I like this much better. We can go to the movies sometime.” Apollo starts pulling containers out of the basket.“Or we can just watch it in our home theater.”“You have a home theater?” Apollo settles next to me and takes the tops off the containers.“Yeah, it’s a big one under the packhouse.”“How did you leave that of the tour you gave me?” Apollo looks at me and smirks.“I wanted to save something in case I needed another push to get you interested.” I try to fight my smile, but it’s a losing battle.“Do you think that I’m easily bought with a home theater?” Apollo hands me a plate that’s full of finger foods.“Not really, but I wanted an ace in the hole in case I needed it.” Apollo wiggles his eyebrows, and I can’t help the laugh that escapes my lips. Completely fun and funny, just like he seemed.~Apollo~We’ve been out here for a while, snacking and talking. I’m learning a lot about my mate, which
