**Chapter 6** The penthouse sat on the top floor of a glass tower overlooking the river, the kind of place that made Alex’s entire apartment look like a shoebox. When the private elevator opened directly into the living room, Alex stepped out into a world of dark wood, black leather, and floor-to-ceiling windows that framed the city like a living painting. Damian was waiting for him in the open kitchen, sleeves rolled up, pouring two glasses of red wine.
