When I approached, she tensed up but remained still. I reached up and gently ran my fingers through her damp hair, untangling each strand as I went. When I touched her, she froze. I then wiped the tears from her eyes with my thumb. My hand felt soft and warm against her skin. I whispered, "Stop crying." "You should get some rest." Her eyes were tired and glossy as she gazed up at me. I briefly wanted to say more, apologise, or explain something, but I was unable to find the right words. I whispered, "Paris, please." "You need to rest.”But instead of calming down her lips, however, started to shake. She tried to stop the sound by putting her hand to her mouth, but it still came out, a tiny, broken sob that broke the stillness. I went cold. She broke down after her shoulders began to shake.
