AUTHOR'S POV The cool night air swept through the balcony as Master Ricardo sat on the couch, his bodyguards by his sides. It had been hours since he sent a message to Tarzan to meet him. Finally, Tarzan walked in. The moment he saw Tarzan approaching, he knew something was off. First, he had called for him since the afternoon, and he was just coming to see him near midnight. Tarzan bowed respectfully to Lord Ricardo before straightening. "You visited, godfather. Nice to see you again." Master Ricardo raised a hand, gesturing for his bodyguards to leave as well. Tarzan immediately understood. The old man wanted a private conversation. Now, it was just the two of them. Ricardo exhaled a slow stream of smoke, flicking his large cigarette between his fingers before speaking. "Alright, boy. Tell me what's wrong." Tarzan's breath hitched for a second, but he quickly steadied himself. Ricardo wasn't an easy man to fool—his sharp eyes saw too much, and his instincts were even s

MITCH'S POV I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed, muscles loose and mind sharp. No wonder—yesterday’s deep-throat session had drained every bit of stress and frustration out of me. My body still tingling from the memory of it. Lena… I should probably go check on her. No. Going in there would only send the wrong message. That I cared. And caring was the last thing I wanted her to believe right now. Still… she had looked really sad yesterday. Broken, even. I sighed, dragging a hand down my face. Fine. One quick check. Just to see. I forced myself out of bed, yawned, and padded out of the room. The house was quiet. Too quiet. The sun was already high—probably eight or nine. I had that special meeting with the boss today, so work was off the table. Apart from that mind-blowing blowjob in the office, being with my her had its perks. I smirked at the thought as I walked toward the guest room. “Lena?” I called, knocking twice. No answer. “Lena?” Louder knock

When was the last time I had a fever this bad? Last year wasn’t this severe. I could still take care of myself back then. But the first year of our marriage… that was the worst. This same kind of fever had flattened me for three full days. Mitch stayed right beside me the entire time—sweet, attentive, and caring in a way I’d never forgotten. He was so stressed about it, muttering that he couldn’t handle the chores or cook properly, which only made me worry about him on top of everything else. Still, he tried. He placed cool cloths on my forehead, changing them every time they warmed. He spoon-fed me chicken soup he’d bought from a nearby restaurant, even when I could barely lift my head. He was kind and patient: “Open up, baby. One more bite.” He always called me “baby” back then. *I squeezed my eyes tightly as the memories flooded in, unstoppable.* I remembered how I’d clung to him like a frightened child, burying my burning face in his chest every time the chills

I managed to pull off my jacket and draped it over her like a blanket, tucking it gently around her shoulders. It wasn’t much, but it was something. I should start buying bigger jackets just incase. Lena sneezed softly and clung even tighter, pressing herself against me as if she wanted to disappear inside my chest. One of her legs hooked slightly over mine, her whole body molding to me in that desperate, feverish way. I stared down at her. At the way her lips were slightly apart as she breathed hotly. At the way her lashes fluttered against her flushed cheeks. She looked so vulnerable… so heartbreakingly beautiful. When Diana’s text came in confirming the doctor, the first word that caught my eye was “Lena,” followed by the estimated arrival time. My heart had nearly stopped earlier. Now, a darker thought crept in — could this fever have been triggered by the horrible experience she went through yesterday? Did she need to talk about it? Was that bastard Mitch involved someh

MITCH'S POVI pulled up to Elena’s family estate in Beverly Hills—the kind of place that reeked of generational wealth and Hollywood royalty.Massive iron gates, perfectly landscaped gardens, and a modern mansion that looked like it belonged in a movie.I knew she was a nepo kid, but this level was something else. The security guard at the gate didn't recognize me, so I showed him the card she had given me.He waved me through with a nod.I smirked as I parked and walked into the main house. I had gotten a haircut and a nice outfit for this meeting."Welcome, Mr. Mitch. Please follow me," a maid said.I nodded politely and followed. We arrived at a Barbie-aesthetic mansion on the left side of the estate. She stopped. "Miss Elena is waiting inside. The bedroom is the one with the white door on the right."She said and walked away.I entered the house and took the staircase, looking around at the luxury living room and all. There were two maids working and cleaning it up.For some reas
