Violet:The sun had yet to rise when I forwarded the PDF Amara sent me to Liam. I owed him that much. He didn't reply, and I went about my day. I'd booked an appointment with Whitfield the previous night, so I quickly got dressed as the first light of dawn settled and headed to the psych department.Whitfield was in her office the moment I stepped in. She looked up from the laptop before her and smiled. "Ms. Hart." Her voice sounded more welcoming. I smiled and sat down."I've gone through your recent records, and I'm glad to see progress." I quickly pulled out a new file from my bag and pushed it toward her. "The schedule for the tournament is out, and as the team advances, we're expected to move with them. I don't see reason why an intern should shoulder such responsibility, given the importance of this tournament."Whitfield didn't rush to explain. She paused, shifted her laptop aside, and picked up the new file. She examined every page quietly while I waited, fingers entangled on

VioletI spent the better part of the evening, after the cheerleaders were chased out, cross-referencing Whitfield's old session notes against my own. Some habits stood out identically. Marcus didn't speak much in hers, but his hand movements and facial expressions matched. The way he'd lean back and sigh heavily after a meaningful question was asked, only to brush it off with a light joke or sarcasm, hadn't changed. I'd scribbled notes so late into the night, over three cups of cold coffee, that my fingers hurt and my eyes begged for nothing but a little darkness to rest their weariness.Meanwhile, I'd moved from the center to the floor, my legs tucked beneath me like a comfort cushion. On the couch, Amara sat in white shorts and a black vest, quietly scrolling through cheer squad drama. The team awaited her approval for the players to be cleared for the derby stage, while also waiting on her decision about whether to include the cheer squad."V," she murmured, and I turned, looking

Liam:Love Paradise wasn't only known for its mouthwatering flavors, but also for its private terrace, string lights, and freedom from paparazzi. From the moment it opened its doors to customers, not one photograph had surfaced on the internet, taken from obscure locations or hidden positions. We only had a few days left before calling the relationship quits, and I couldn't help but want to be with Violet without looking over my shoulder. Hendricks had said to keep it boring and quiet, but he'd never said to continue the show after the review board's meeting, and I needed no official statement from him to end it, because it was certainly what I knew he expected of me.I pulled out a seat for her, and she smiled, then placed the flowers on the side of the table before sitting down. The view from the terrace was magnificent, Ashgrove sprawled beneath us in a sea of neon lights and moving cars. I signaled the waiter, who quickly came and brought the menu with him. A high-end dinner at

Violet:Needless to say, Amara kept her lips tight and wouldn't say a word about what she'd discovered, and without choice, life had to move on. After explaining the photoshoot night, she never stopped teasing me, and it only worsened when Derek sneaked her two pictures from the photoshoot, and she couldn't stop gushing over them."You two look like a match made in heaven." Yeah, the sarcasm was spotted from miles away."Would this be a Cinderella love story?" she giggled, and I rolled my eyes. I was no lady in distress waiting to be saved by some homecoming prince.I moved back home over the weekend after visiting Jess and watching her order the new intern around, who rather seemed pleased doing her bidding than cursing and reporting to the boss the way many would have."Wow, you've got yourself an obedient puppy," I said, and Jess's gaze relaxed, drifting toward the counter where he stood serving the incoming customers."Theo," Jess called, and the young man with brown, coffee-like

Liam:The post had been up for only four hours by the time I stepped onto the ice for scrimmage. The rink wasn't as packed as I'd hoped, most of the players had gone off to cool steam, whatever method they used. All I wanted was energy on the ice in four days. With Marcus still sulking over losing to Derek, it was only normal he'd rallied a few of them to drag their feet. But that wasn't my problem. With the derby match coming up, Ashgrove opening the tournament, he better not mess it up for the team.Time passed, but my thoughts revolved around one post, and my phone in the locker room wouldn't stop dinging. Did I increase its volume to the loudest on purpose? Certainly. Listening to the continuous beep of incoming notifications felt like daggers stabbing repeatedly into my heart, numbing whatever I wasn't feeling. My speed increased. I remembered every remark Hendricks had made over past practices. He said I was slow, so I worked on speed. "Keep your stick on the ice, Carter, on the
