Coming Back, To Say Goodbye!

"Yes father... Yes... I still need to recover."

Her father continuously talked and ranting. She can barely hear what he says. Her body still hurts everywhere but what hurts her most is her loneliness.

Her father's shout made her head spin again. 

"Father....."

She tries to make her father stop talking and listen to her. But it doesn't seem to work. The more her father talked, the more the sound 'Bang' echoed in her head.

She can't bear it anymore. She need sleep not some stupid ranting from person who doesn't care about her. She shouted her anger out to her father.

"Father!!!"

Seems this one has worked because her father instantly becomes silent. 

"Can we talk about this later? I still need to recover."

Her father remains silent, she looks a little bit glad. For almost two weeks she's been laying in that hard bed. And this is the seventh time her father called her from abroad. From a nice and warm condolence to a crazy shout like a mad old man looking for his pet. Making her pain more miserable.

"Nadine.... Where is your husband?"

Nadine can't answer her father. She became silent. That silent treatment made her father let his anger out again.

"Is he with his mistress again!!!"

Without emotion she just stared at the window beside her. Counting how many leaves that happily fall from the tree, they look like dancing with the wind. So different compared to her condition. Lonely, sad and angry filling her spacious room.

"How dare he not be with you right now!!"

His voice echoed in that silent room along with the 'tik tok' sound from the clock. 

"He just lost his daughter!!! How come that jerk is not with you!"

"Son..."

That one word made her father become speechless again.

"Nadine..."

Her father became soft again hearing her crooked voice. His anger suddenly disappeared.

"Are you done, father?"

Nadine doesn't receive any answer.

"You are the same as him. You are not with me right now. You are never with me. You just want to make sure that he won't cause any scandals, right?"

She just ended her call like that. Leaving her worried father without explanation. She saw someone behind her door from the beginning of her call. 

"You can come in."

The nurse came to check on her. Nadine's facial expression remains the same. 

"Sorry to make you wait. When will I be discharged from here?"

The nurse looked a little bit confused but answered her with a warm smile.

"I just arrived a minute ago. And you can leave this afternoon."

Then she leaves her again with her loneliness. But when someone comes again, she really hopes that her husband will pick her up. But it's impossible, since she's the one who made their baby die. 

"Miss... Sir Henry has ordered us to come and pick you up."

In front of her, there were three people, two men and one petite woman. She looks older than Nadine, but his small statue makes her look young.

"Oh, Anna. Are you sure my father has ordered you? Or are you the one who is pitying me?"

Anna doesn't answer anything, she just stands there and waits for Nadine's order.

"Haaah... Okay... Just pack all of my thing and we will leave this afternoon. Do it quietly... I will take a little nap."

Anna sighed and answer her softly.

"Yes, Miss."

She moves everything into Nadine's suitcase. This entire week she is the one who is taking care of Nadine. She is the one who knows the strong and independent Nadine Merrick, crying every night and cursing her foolish decision.

"Sleep well, Nana."

Hearing Anna's soothing voice, she slowly drifted into the dream world. In that world, her warm husband would greet her with a smile every day. But suddenly, everything changes because she is too greedy, and suddenly, her husband leaves her with his mistress.

"What's mine, forever will be mine. Especially you, Adrian!"

She shouted at him and grab a little bottle beside her. She just wanted to threaten him first. That she would abort his baby if he did not come home. But who knows that her madness took over her. So she decided to take so many sleeping pills. 

"Mommy don't! Don't you love me!"

In her dream she sees a cute little boy with his round cheek crying, holding her sleeve. But rage still took over her. She didn't care about the little boy who was pleading at her.

"Huh! Love? Your father doesn't love you! Then why would I?"

Now his chubby hand pulled her hand and cried so hard. He pulled her hand to stop Nadine from taking those pills.

"But I do love you mom!"

Nadine pushed the boy so hard that he fell to the ground. Nadine doesn't seem to have any sympathy, she just laughs loudly.

"I don't need your love. I thought if I had you, your father would love me. But it doesn't work that way, child. So I think I will get rid of you!"

That boy ran to Nadine again and prevented her from taking those pills. But everything is late. Nadine took the pills and the boy just said goodbye with his sad face.

"Mom... Goodbye..."

His round cheeks wet because of his tear. His face looked so sad .

"Till we meet again, I will always love you. And daddy will always treasure you."

Suddenly, her world crumbled apart, regret suddenly filling her chest. And desperate for his leaving, she shouts as loudly as she can to call his baby boy.

"NO!!!! DON'T GO!!!!!"

Everything was dark and cold. She can't hear everything and see nothing.

"Miss!!!!"

Somehow she could hear someone calling her.

"Miss!!!!!"

That's Anna's voice, but she can't see anything.

"Nana!!!"

Now Anna calls her with her nickname that her parents usually called her when she was a child.

"Nana wake up!!!"

The last word made her suddenly wake. Anna's cute face was tainted by worries and scares. She grips her arm so strongly until it feels numb. But then she remembered her dream.

Her eyes became cloudy again but this time she was not crying. She takes off Anna's grip and begins to be so determined.

"It's time... Let's go home. I have to settle our account."

Anna steps back and obeys her order. Anna prepares Nadine to change and begin to leave that scary room.
