It’s less about a strict 'series' order and more about which romance trope you want first. Want dark, possessive vibes and a modern underworld? Start with 'Neon Gods'. Prefer a rivals-to-lovers, beauty-and-the-influencer story? 'Electric Idol' is your entry. If competition-based romance with deadly stakes is your thing, go for 'Wicked Beauty'. Each book stands alone enough that you can pick based on mood. You'll get references to other characters, but nothing that ruins the main plot. Choose your own adventure!

I'm more curious about which couple people think is the best. That might influence which book someone should start with to get hooked. For me, 'Electric Idol' had the most compelling tension, so maybe start there if you need a surefire hit.

The fandom wiki probably has a page on reading order with disclaimers about spoilers. Those community-managed sites are usually meticulous about that stuff. Might be worth a quick glance if you're a strict no-spoilers person.

For fans of the myth retelling genre, part of the fun is seeing how the author reinterprets each myth. Reading in order shows her style evolving. 'Neon Gods' is a fairly straightforward Hades/Persephone take in a new setting. 'Wicked Beauty' is a much more creative, gender-swapped take on Achilles/Patroclus. Seeing that creativity grow is part of the journey. Start at the beginning of her work in this world.

I'd recommend starting with 'Neon Gods' purely because Persephone and Hades are such iconic figures. Their story establishes the tone—dark, glamorous, pact-based romance. If you don't like that one, the series probably isn't for you.

And if I’m not careful they will cut my heart out.
Fang-The first time I saw her, she was sat on the side of the road drinking whiskey straight from the bottle.
The second time was when I hit her dog.
I had promised myself never to get involved with another woman after the death of my wife.
But Gypsy was different.
Sweeter, kinder and with a mouth that could make a sailor blush.
She was also too good for me.
I am Fang, President of the Savage Sons. I am not a good man, I’ve taken more lives than I care to admit even to myself.
But I’m going to keep her anyway.
Elle Davidson, orphaned at 12 with limited memory, is taken in by the Alpha and Luna of the New Moon pack. There she meets Damon Ledger, the future Alpha, and her nemesis. Book 1 Saints and Sinners
She was the light to my dark.
The saint to my sinner. with her innocent eyes and devilish curves.
A Madonna that was meant to be admired but never touched.
Until someone took that innocence from her.
She left.
The darkness in my heart was finally complete.
I avenged her, I killed for her, but she never came back.
Until I saw her again. An angel dancing around a pole for money.
She didn’t know I owned that club. She didn’t know I was watching.
This time I won’t let her escape.
I will make her back into the girl I knew.
Whether she likes it or not.
Book 2 Judge and Jury
I can’t stop watching her.
I’m not even sure I want to.
Taylor Lawson, blonde, beautiful, and totally oblivious to how much dangers she’s in.
She’s also the one juror in my upcoming murder trial that hasn’t been bought.
The one who can put me behind bars for a very long time.
I know I should execute her.
After all that’s what I do.
I am the Judge.
I eliminate threats to The Family.
And Taylor is a threat.
But I don’t want to kill her.
Possessing her, making her love me seems like a much better plan for this particular Juror.
It's a slippery slope. You think, 'Oh, this one's about Achilles and Patroclus, I'll just read that.' But then they mention the 'fallout from the Demeter center' and you're like, wait, what center? It's small stuff, but it nags at you, pulling you out of the story. Starting from the beginning keeps you immersed.
Huh. I never even considered there might be a different order. The books are clearly numbered on the covers in the order they were published. 'Neon Gods' is 1 & 2, 'Electric Idol' is 3, 'Wicked Beauty' is 4. I guess some series have prequels that slot in earlier, but this one doesn't.
It's a modern myth series where each book tackles a different couple. The timeline is progressive, not retrospective. So the order you read them is the order they happened in the world of Olympus. I don't know why anyone would suggest otherwise, unless they're trying to be contrarian.
Just follow the numbers on the spine. That's the safest bet for any series, and it definitely works here.
It's 'Neon Gods'. The series is called Dark Olympus, and book one is subtitled 'A Scorching Modern Retelling of Hades and Persephone'. The author, Katee Robert, has them numbered on her site. I appreciate when authors are clear about reading order, because some romantic series are more standalone.
This one has an evolving backdrop, though. Events in 'Neon Gods' directly change the landscape for the characters in 'Electric Idol'. You'll miss the significance of certain alliances and threats if you skip.
