I yelled He came back, I puffed and leaned on the couch, he gave me the book 'the hate you give'

What I felt most for almost all my whole life was hatred, I was hated by almost everyone including my own father and my step sister. “Tell me again how much you hate me. Go on. Convince yourself.” “God, I hate you,” I whispered into the empty room, my voice shaking, breaking on the words as if they were glass shards in my mouth. “I hate you so much.” I rocked forward slightly, hugging my knees tighter to my chest, trying to make myself smaller, invisible. But the words felt hollow, even to me. Because beneath the hatred, there was something else—something dark and twisted that I couldn’t name, couldn’t admit. It was like a poison seeping into my veins, slow and insidious, making my skin flush anew just thinking about it.

I hated Tony with every ounce of energy in me. The abhorrence I felt towards Tony was so huge. It was like a giant cloud hanging over my head, threatening to consume me. I had never hated anyone this way. Just the mention of his name irritated me. I tore a book to shred just because it had a character whose name was Tony. I never knew I could hate anyone this way.

I know I can’t hate you and I know that if I don’t hate you I will hate myself. You made me have nightmares, you traumatized me, you put me in a dark position that I can not even begin to describe and you know what hurts more is when I think about that horrible memory, all the good memories I shared with you fade away like it was nothing and just like that I begin to feel hatred for myself because no matter how I try I can not hate you even though you are the reason behind my ten years of miseries.

But then I saw a light, and I lived in it. Maybe one would ask why I still don't hate myself despite all my despair. I have many reasons to hate myself. I am not perfect and will never be perfect. I am boring, my life was a mess, and my childhood was a lie. I didn't live a beautiful or even normal life. But c'mon, you can give me 1000 reasons to hate, but I have one good reason to love. This is me. This is who I was meant to be. If I give up, will there be success in my district now? I stated my flaws, but I still don't hate myself. After all, I stand with God in saying that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Then, finally, his mask shattered. “You want to know what kind of man I am?” His voice was quiet, but there was steel in every syllable. “I am a man who has made too many enemies to count. A man who learned the hard way that feelings are weapons others will use to cut you open. I don’t get to be soft. I don’t get to be careless.” He paused, his gaze searing hers, almost burning her alive. “And yet here you are,” he breathed. “Standing in front of me, being exactly that. My one weakness.”
