Back to the front cover. Kenneth gave me this book as a present. For drawing purposes, I know it's a sketchpad with white blank papers. Just ordinary... Yet now, I'm witnessing with my own two eyes how the plain abstract cover erased its colors, transforming into something red with cursive design at the center. Written in thick italic letters, THE BOOK OF STRINGS wrote itself as if there's an invisible hand with golden ink writing them. If I'm in my right state of mind, I would have screamed, tuck my tails, and bolt to ask for help. But I did nothing of those...

"Well, it's... It's hard to explain, the book explains it all." "Is it interesting?" She asked looking at the book cover, it was of a young teenager holding a lamp in what looked to be a dark cave, a bat was hanging of his hands and an old witch was behind him. "It looks interesting," She muttered. "It is," He assured. She nodded her head with a small smile and placed her iPods in back, resting her head back against the car seats, she closed her eyes.

Completely unguarded. And that, more than anything else, unsettled him. Because he could feel it. In his chest. That deadly spark again. He scanned the cover, thumb following the title, then back at her. "Why this one?" "It's a book about sadness," she told him quietly. "But not the kind that cries out. The kind that settles into the space between us." Some dark, wordless flicker showed behind his eyes. He nodded once, palming the book into his coat pocket as if it was evidence in a case he wasn't ready to break yet.

“What’s this?” “Your half of the deal,” he said simply, like that explained everything. I looked down and groaned so loudly it almost felt personal. “No,” I said instantly, holding it up between two fingers like it might bite me. “Are you fucking kidding me?” “Not even a little.” The cover was already screaming p**n on paper before i even opened it. Dark, dramatic font, a shirtless vampire-looking man holding some bloodied naked girl. It looked like something that should be hidden behind locked glass in a questionable bookstore aisle.

I turned it to the side where there is no dirt and wipe the book using it. I saw a black cover with gold linings and designs. I touch the ribbons that are placed in some of the pages. There are symbols located at the bottom part of the cover, carved and painted in the color of gold, but I don’t understand what it means. I looked at the back but there were just designs. I tried opening it but there’s a metal lock on the side. Huh? Was this… a secret book? It kinda looked like a grimoire.

The cover was a mottled, grayish-brown, and it felt heavy, as if it were weighted with lead or ancient secrets. As I pulled it into the dim light of the nearest reading lamp, I felt a connection so powerful it made my stomach flip. The heat at my neck flared, the silver light illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. This book wasn't meant for the Council. It wasn't meant for the King. It was meant for me. My breath hitched as I placed it on the reading table. The cover seemed to pulse under my palm. With trembling fingers, I turned the first page.

My eyes widened with anticipation, but inside, I found only a thick, leather-bound book. The cover was faded and worn, with the strange symbol embossed on it; a triangle with three circles inside. I ran my fingers over the symbol, a chill creeping up my spine. I had no idea what it meant, but it seemed significant, almost sacred. With hands that trembled, I lifted the book from the chest. The pages were thick and yellowed, and an old, musky smell filled the air as I carefully opened it.

The book was older than anything Olivia had ever seen, its cover a deep shade of maroon, almost dark enough to be black, with intricate golden symbols etched into the surface. When her fingers brushed the pages, she felt the pulse of magic flow through her. It was as if the book itself recognized her touch—knew that she was the one meant to uncover its secrets.

Even its cover was clean, on the cover had the drawings, that Alpha Angelo couldn't understand. Being the first time to hold the book, he was surprised to see the picture of wolves in their full transformation. A full moon shinning above them, then at the far end of the cover there was a hunter with a ring shinning. It appeared to be a reflection from the moon's light, well, it was strange. It was strange because, Alpha Angelo couldn't understand why the picture of a hunter was on the cover. He wished to call Beta Dagon so that they can read it together, but he remembered.
