4.5 Hours Novels & Stories

I huff, "But trust me here, It's mandatory!" He looks down at his watch and sighs, "3 hours 20 minutes and counting."

"Like what?" "Like that. We don't have time." "We have three hours and forty seven minutes," I told her. She looked at me over her shoulder. "Get up." I got up.

he announced staring at his wrist “I don’t understand,” I admitted. “ what happens in 47 hours, 59 minutes and 40 seconds.” Alex rolled back in his chair, a humorless smile playing on his lips. “You don’t even have that much time left anyway that’s how long you have to deliver a project that’s up to my standards. “ He paused, his gaze boring into mine. Or else consider yourself jobless.

I am fixing her hair. She continues, "And do you know the time? It will take almost 6 hours and 45 minutes. Then I booked extra seats. That's how you can sit comfortably. I know you can't hang your legs for so long. Still, we have time, if you want then we can go by plane. Are you sure that you can go this way?" She is talking continuously, and her face is damn cute. I just lock my lips with hers.

I wanted him to see where I came from. The drive took eight hours. We left before dawn, the sky still dark, the roads empty. Eli drove the first shift while I slept in the passenger seat, my head against the window. Then I drove while he dozed. We stopped at a gas station for snacks and bad coffee. We listened to music and talked about nothing and everything.

I returned and smirked. He had no choice but to finally give up. I told him to sleep on our way there, he was persistent at first but of course, he gave up. Finally, It was 5 hours of driving, I think? I drove for 3 hours and Clint insisted on driving for the remaining 2 hours. Leiner opened up the gate for us while the others were waiting at the front door. “What took you two so long?” Michane asked and hugged. “You never told us it was a 5-hour drive!” I exclaimed and they just laughed.

He drove fast but carefully, his eyes flicking between the road and me every few seconds. "How far apart?" he asked. "Five minutes," I groaned, checking my phone. "Maybe four. It's irregular." "Dr. Martinez said 5-1-1," Noah recited. "Five minutes apart, lasting one minute, for one hour. We're close." "It feels like it's happening now," I whimpered. Fear, cold and sharp, pierced through the pain. It was too soon. Thirty-six weeks. She wasn't ready. We weren't ready.

I added a fresh layer of powder to make the sweat go away and redid my eyes and lips. “Yes, equals. Just be patient with me as I get used to it. You aren’t the only person who has to change.” I felt a pang of guiltiness from that. He wasn’t wrong… “How much time do we have till we need to be down there?” I asked. “We still have about 45 minutes.” “Can you make me a drink, please?” I finished with my look and I was happy with it.

he answered, tossing a small piece of wood into the small campfire. “Oh, how far?” I asked hesitantly. “Six hours by regular car, three hours by a junky Rider van.” “Wow,” I murmured, nodding. We were still gazing at the night sky before I asked him another question. “Is this camp permanent?” I asked, turning to him.

"I hate that it's working, but it's working." I pulled her against my chest, felt the tremor running through her that she'd been holding back all night through sheer will alone, and let her stay there a moment before either of us had to be strong for the rest of the house again. "Four hours," I said quietly, into her hair. "We hold to four hours. Whatever they're hoping to provoke, we don't give it to them." Headlights swept across the kitchen window before she could answer, and every head in the room turned toward the sound of tires on gravel outside.
