Whispers of a Second Chance
After a couple of seconds, my eyelids grew heavy, and I fell asleep, the world fading into a haze of confusion.
I woke up, the heaviness in my head still lingering, the room a blur of shadows. A light, sharp and piercing, struck my face, forcing me to close my eyes. I opened them again, and my heart lurched. Tyra was standing at the doorway, her face a mask of tears, her eyes filled with a pain that mirrored my own.
I looked around, my mind struggling to process the scene. A woman, naked and sleeping beside me, her face obscured by the shadows. I stood up, my legs trembling, my head spinning.
