The Bookstore Temptation

The Bookstore Temptation

Completely unguarded. And that, more than anything else, unsettled him. Because he could feel it. In his chest. That deadly spark again. He scanned the cover, thumb following the title, then back at her. "Why this one?" "It's a book about sadness," she told him quietly. "But not the kind that cries out. The kind that settles into the space between us." Some dark, wordless flicker showed behind his eyes. He nodded once, palming the book into his coat pocket as if it was evidence in a case he wasn't ready to break yet.

Chasing the Fading Light

Chasing the Fading Light

We both looked down at it like it had spoken out loud. Root: miss you already. Tell me your lecture was boring enough that you thought about me the whole time I read it twice. My heart fluttering at each word and my cheeks blushing. "Don't," Jennifer said, watching my thumb hover over the screen. "I'm not doing anything." "You're doing the thing where you say you're not doing anything right before you do the thing." I locked the phone and set it face-down, if only to prove her wrong, and lasted exactly eleven minutes before I picked my jacket up off the floor.

The Alpha's King Rejected Mate

The Alpha's King Rejected Mate

Her hands remained hovering in mid-air and her eyes never wavered from the spell book in front of her, the glowing from her palm grew brighter until it engulfed her whole body in blinding light. My head snapped backward and my ears rang, as I shielded them with my arms. The bright light subsided as suddenly as it started and soon the lights in the room began to flicker. Everything became silent for about three seconds, then the lights stopped flickering. The room was illuminated by an eerie white light emitting from the healer’s palms. The light seemed to be radiating from her palms to her body. It was similar to what a firefly emits from its wings. Soon a sudden wind filled the room, the wi

The Abused Luna

The Abused Luna

It was the time of night. Darkness engulfed the world despite the presence of millions of twinkling diamonds in the empty sky. it seemed like the stars were trying to gain attention of those who lived beyond them. Indeed the night sky was beyond imagination. In the mean time a single soul sat painfully in the dark room. the darkness was beyond comparison to what the nature had given outside. With a click, the bulb flickered before it could illuminate the small room. A girl huffed when the light finally flicked on as she walked slowly, painfully towards an old, small mattress.

FATED TO HIS DARKNESS

FATED TO HIS DARKNESS

The words shifted as I stared, letters rearranging themselves until I could read them clearly. The blood of light will walk among shadows. I sucked in a breath. "She will hear voices not her own." "She will run and she will be found." My hands trembled. This wasn’t possible. This was some sick coincidence. I flipped the page. Images flickered across the paper, not quite words. A forest bathed in moonlight. Golden eyes watching from the dark. A woman standing between light and shadow, her hands glowing. The woman in the image looked like me!!

Winter's Awakening

Winter's Awakening

They urged me forward, their whispers a mix of despair and temptation, "We're waiting for you. The truth is yours to grasp, if you dare." Fear ran through me, twisting in my stomach like an unwelcome serpent. Still, curiosity sounded louder. My eyes moved forward into the pitch-black darkness, where a strange glow flickered at the end of a narrow passage. A spark of bright blue, like the ocean waves that touched the shores of my childhood, shimmered in the dark depths. My instincts warned me, but a wave of fascination pulled me closer as I cautiously moved toward the light.

he said, and the faint smile that curved his mouth made my skin prickle. "Or perhaps they've already left their mark on our world in ways we can’t yet see. Either way, the tale of Alexei and his family is a reminder that even in the shadows, there is light. And sometimes," he added, almost under his breath, "that light is more dangerous than the darkness." The projector flickered off with a mechanical sigh. The fluorescent lights blinked awake, throwing the hall into a harsh, clinical brightness that made everything—the desks, the scratched floors, the pale faces around me—feel suddenly too real.

The Mistress

The Mistress

As the doors closed, I reached for the locket and felt the hidden switch. Click. The lights in the entire hotel flickered once, twice, and then plunged into total, absolute darkness. The screaming began a second later. In the dark, I felt the most like a Vermon I ever had. I wasn’t the victim. I was the Architect of the blackout.

The Alpha's Babysitter

The Alpha's Babysitter

she began, her voice a warm lullaby, "in a meadow filled with fireflies, lived a tiny little firefly named Flicker." Theo's eyes widened, his tiny fingers gripping the swing chains. He loved fireflies, the tiny lights that danced in the twilight like magic. "Flicker was different from the other fireflies," Nanny Mama Hazel continued, her voice low and captivating. "He was afraid of the dark. He couldn't bear to be alone in the night, his little light trembling with fear." Theo, usually a fearless explorer of the world, felt a pang of sympathy for Flicker. He knew what it felt like to be afraid of the dark, to curl up under his blankets and wish for the sun to return.

Denied by Destiny: Trapped in the Shadows of the Mate Bond

I remain frozen, trying to predict his next move, keeping my body still and fight that urge to flinch when I see movement to the side of me. Relief washes over me and I take a much-needed intake of air as he reaches to the side of him, seemingly turning on a light switch because all of a sudden, sharp brightness blooms across this cold dark space. No wonder this place felt so damn cold, it was a step closer to hell. No amount of light or fire would heat this place up, the coldness hit you in the bones. As the lights continue to flicker on, my eyes adjust to my new surroundings…it is some kind of

On the other hand, Hector didn’t grovel enough, I might be petty… After regaining her memories Kaia knew that Alora and Hector rejected one another, but if I’m not wrong she wasn’t actually made aware of this fact before loosing her memories, nor after.

I like that the general plot twists are unexpected , but some plots are lost, others unresolved. It's a good story that needs a better proof reader or editor and needs to finalize one story before moving to the next, it reads like a daytime soap opera.
