“Enjoy it while it is hot.” I stiffened, but kept my eyes on her, waiting for her to finish what she wanted to saw. “There’s a little thing about moths,” she continued calmly, almost indulgently. “They’re always drawn to the brightest fire. They always believe that it is going to save them. It is seen as stupid and foolish, but there is no one to actually stop them. If there was, they wouldn’t be as foolish as to try and burn themselves alive.” Her lips curved faintly. “But they always burn once it grows too bright. Just like you will.”

Chapter 21: The Fractured Flame The sky burned crimson as if the heavens themselves bled for what was unfolding. Aria moved through the chaos like a blade unsheathed. Every breath was smoke, every step slick with blood, yet her senses sharpened to a razor’s edge. The rhythm of battle should have drowned her, but underneath the clash of steel and guttural war cries, she heard something else—something darker. It slithered beneath her skin, that pulse of wrongness she had felt growing, a storm coiling just out of sight.

Flame said said and they nodded then began rushing out of the room The mother and the daughter got out but just when Flame was about to cross, some planks fell down, blocking the door. "F**k!" Flame cussed and made to push off the planks but the fire was too much She coughed as she looked around for an escape route but could see none. Will this really be the end for her?? Flame coughed even more as the smoke thickened more. She looked around the burning room and a smile escaped her lips If this was going to be the end for her then she'll be happy coz even if it was short, she got to experience what happiness feels like

The storm rolled in without warning. By morning, the Bunga skyline was hidden behind sheets of rain and fog. Clouds hung low and thick, choking the sun into a dull gray smear. Rachel stood at the center of Nyra’s ritual chamber, dressed in black training gear, bare feet planted on cool stone. Her eyes remained closed, her breathing calm, but the storm outside mirrored the chaos pressing against the edges of her mind. The First Flame’s final words echoed louder each day. *“Elira was the second.”*

“The place is already set. A few more splashes and the fire will eat everything, including you.” I screamed, “You’re insane!” She tilted her head. “Maybe. But I’m rich and free. You? You’ll be ash.” She emptied the last of the fuel on me—my legs, my arms, my hair. I tried to pull away, but I couldn’t move. My whole body trembled from fear and cold liquid. “Burn her,” she told the men, voice calm like she was ordering lunch. I screamed, loud enough to shake the walls. “Someone help! reeva, please!”

Her eyes briefly met the young girl next to Jasper, her eyes wide and innocent, then flickering with unease as she watched them. The girl gripped Jasper's arm, her fingers showing no sign of letting go. Gone was the shame of being the other woman she had felt the night before. She clung to him like a delicate flower in need of protection. Elaine saw a ghost of her past self in her. She had been that girl once. As Elaine made to leave, Lucy caught her eye, a taunting smile playing on her lips, and she subtly gestured to her neck. Elaine's gaze followed, taking in the pale, soft skin marred by a patchwork of love bites—the unmistakable signs of passionate affection.

My body perceives the moonlight, it is like a thin cascade of water that crosses my skin, I tremble when I feel it for the first time, my back arches and my body begins to ache inordinately, the bones break and a strange fur forms around my body, the first thing I do after writhing from the pain, is howl, howl loudly at the moon. The flames chase me, the fire that consumed my entire home chases me in a brutal and unbridled way, it does not stop, even when the snow continues to fall, even when the night is so beautiful, the fire manages to persist in that horrific scene.
