*Season 1: Discovery* *Chapter 7: "The Unexpected Encounter"* Ava is walking home from the library when she sees Ethan across the street. She's about to call out to him, but then she notices he's talking to someone - a girl with long, dark hair and piercing green eyes. Ava feels a pang of curiosity and maybe even a little jealousy. Who is this girl, and why is Ethan talking to her? Ava decides to follow them from a distance, trying not to be seen. She watches as they walk into a small café, and she follows them inside. Ava takes a seat at a table nearby, trying to listen in on their conversation without being noticed.

She explained as she unfolded the old brown map in her hands. “Moonfrost? Isn’t that one of the most dangerous places existing?” She nodded. “And I can’t assure you that we might find one.” I gulped down my saliva. Although I have heard tales about that forest but it was too late to stop now. My will to overcome this curse was much stronger than some fear of a forest. My only worry was Elle.

"You don't have to tell me any secrets, just something personal. Otherwise how do I know you're not going to murder me?" Another laugh. "I guess you don't. You just have to trust me." "That sounds like something a murderer would say." "You seem to know a lot about murderers. How do I know you're not one?" "Murderers are rarely women." "I don't know," he says. "Seems like the perfect set up - beautiful woman, luring men out to a secluded spot with a strange siren song... Myths are full of that shit." I keep my face down so he can't see that I'm blushing at the fact he called me beautiful. "I guess I've been found out."

He knew how to differentiate sounds, to lead effectively. I tried to take his word for it, but something about the howls unsettled me. They seemed too deliberate, too intense. I couldn't shake the feeling that something more was happening out there. As we continued down the dark road, the howls faded, replaced by the rumble of the bus and the murmur of the passengers. I glanced at Zayn, who seemed lost in thought, his eyes scanning the horizon. "Do you really think they're just mourning?" I asked quietly.

He wore a doctor’s overall and a pair of white gloves, looking professional and handsome. “But she seemed to forget what happened one month ago. Was she lying? Or maybe she is not the one we are looking for?” Lendon asked impatiently. Kendra’s denial made him doubt himself. “Are you doubting yourself?” Alexis turned around and asked, surprisingly. “How is that possible?” Lendon is afraid to accept his weakness. He glanced at Alexis and retorted. “It’s just I didn’t see her face clearly that night. I just remembered her smell. And I am unsure right now. This crazy woman denied that she knew me,”

I defended, knowing it wasn’t entirely true. “I’ve made a background research on you Miss Mia Cruise and I know for a fact that this office is like your secret lair, you still mourn the puppy you lost to a tragic accident three years ago even more than your late father and you are a huge fan of De Brans bar and go there every weekend to get drunk,” he said and caught his breath right on time. I gave him a puzzled look which slowly turned into a wicked smirk. “I’m sure this is an invalid case in the court of law,” I said, resting my head on my jaw.

He couldn’t just tell me he loved me—he had to make it some mystery. I push back from my desk, tension coiling out of me like smoke. Fine. If he wants a reaction, he’s not going to get one from me. I grab my travel mug and head to the small kitchenette in the corner, filling it with water, pouring black coffee grounds into the filter. As the machine hums, I let out a long sigh, the bitter aroma a small comfort in the chaos of my thoughts. The quiet is broken by a familiar voice. “Hey! Come look at this!”
