Needless to say, they possessed very scary appearances. Lucas and Stella were heading toward the Northern State. "Lucas the Demon, do you know that this is the Northern State?!" Stella said to Lucas. "No idea." Lucas shook his head. Stella was stunned, and she told the entire story of the Northern State to Lucas. "So, you’re scared?" Lucas looked at Stella. His comment stunned Stella. She was curious whether or not Lucas would be scared of anything. "Awoo, awoo!" At that split second, numerous zombies came charging toward Lucas.

He was lying face down, and face up, all at once. I live in that house now. I am the village "fixer." And every night, I listen to the scratching beneath the floorboards. I don't fear the ones that crawl. I fear the ones that wait. Because now I know that the most terrifying thing in the world isn't death—it’s a corpse that refuses to close its eyes.

~Three Days Later~ ~Sunny’s Point of View~ “Mommy, can I ask you something,” I said. “Of course honey, what is it,” she said, brushing my hair. I loved that, it was so relaxing and it almost put me to sleep. “Who is the scary man that is around sometimes, why does he always stare at me,” I asked. “Oh … well sweetie he’s a vampire and he lives here,” she said. “He LIVES here?! Why does he live here, shouldn’t he be with others like him, won’t he hurt us,” I asked, horrified.

“You had to say poetic.” “Sorry,” she said. “But you know I’m right.” “I do,” he said. The wind slid over the ridge, carrying the faint scents of pine and distant hearth smoke. Somewhere down in the valley, a wolf howled—a long, thin sound, more punctuation than alarm. “What scares you most about it?” he asked. “Them turning it into that story.” She stared past his shoulder at the stars a moment, choosing her words.

I then noticed a comment in the comment section. "In the original story, Waylon's insistence on marrying Zoe led to a fallout with his parents. Zoe eventually drove the Sorenson family into bankruptcy, causing his parents to age decades in one night and commit suicide by jumping from a building. Their current situation just makes me want to burst into tears."

He tightened his grip on her hand and asked, "A ghost story?" Jessica bent her eyes, didn't respond, and continued speaking. Just as she was talking about a scary place, suddenly, "whoosh," a black shadow flew past her eyes, and she was startled.

Which made them more interested with the story. "Dad, what is Mr. Higgins talking about? What happened thirty years ago?" Nancy asked her father. They were also having dinner. "Nothing, sweetheart. It's okay." Her dad responded. "What the hell is that freak talking about?" Xavier asked his mother. "Don't mind him. Just keep eating. "Mom, do you know anything about what Mr. Higgins said?" Sara asked her mother. "I've read that story when we did some papers before graduation. You were in high school that time, right?"

I fell asleep towards the end. "You said you weren't scared?" Camila argues. "You said it was a boring movie. You slept." I chuckle. "Well, I lied. I only put on a brave face." "That must have been a scary movie. You must've been scared, Lippy," Hearing says my nickname makes my body feel sick. Leah peeks her way through my conversation with Camila. "But you must know scary movies are just make-believe stories. There is no such thing as Freddy Kruger or Jason. It's okay to be scared; as adults, we see those movies as not real. Even children can tell the difference between fiction and non-fiction."

It infuriated Cassy more—with the night that’s the homecoming of the ghosts and horrors. A wicked laugh itched to be out, instead, she scrutinized the height. The distance between her and the ground did not harrow her. It amazed her at how different she’s lurking around where the normal people might not even stare without a wave of nausea washing over them. An urge to smoke-filled her; she fetched a pack from the inside pocket of her dark blue jacket; ignited the flame, mumbling, “Every legendary story is a pent-up frustration of human beings to invoke fear in the minds of those whom they hate. Several against one or one against many.”

I bolted my door shut and rested my back behind it. My mind seemed to be in shambles as it tried to wrap around the things that had happened. I sat down on the floor of my room and tucked my knees in front of me. Screams and cries echoed throughout the castle and in response, I placed my hands over my ears to try and silence them. The things William said to me were not merely scary stories that mothers told their children— they are real. This is the reason my father is scared of them. They are not like us— they are the blood drinkers.
