I followed my ruined corpse all the way to the mass grave. My limbs were twisted at unnatural angles, my body covered in crisscrossing bruises, my face drained of every drop of color—like a weed that had been stomped flat by a hundred boots. Soon, a pack of mangy stray dogs caught the scent of fresh meat. Their eyes glowed hungry and green in the darkness as they circled in. At first, they just tugged at the edges of my clothes. Then one bolder mutt sank its teeth into my calf and ripped off a chunk of flesh.

The heavy glass of the balcony doors didn't shatter; it disintegrated into fine, white powder. Two men stepped into the room. They weren't wolves. They weren't human. They were tall, gaunt, and dressed in robes of blindingly white silk that seemed to glow with an inner radiance. Their faces were obscured by silver masks that lacked eyes—only smooth, polished metal where a gaze should be. "The Abomination," one of them spoke. His voice didn't sound like it came from a throat; it sounded like the grinding of stones. "The Silver Spark that threatens the Great Night."

Tears came out of his eyes. ------------------ cambion- a child's produced from incubus father. - it appears to be stillborn, as there isn't a pulse or visible breathing. -at age 7, the child starts to behave like a human but it often displays evil tendencies.

Then she dropped the tray right on my desk with a thud. “Where did you get that?” I arched a brow. “It’s from the royal library.” Norma stepped back as if it might bite her. “That’s the Demon Lord’s Grimoire.” I fought the urge to roll my eyes. “Seriously?” “No jokes, Miss Abby!” she hissed. “That book… it’s in all the old tavern stories. The Demon Lord of Thunder and Death. His relic. They say whoever opens it risks being cursed forever.”

He turns for a moment, stares at me, and then bounds off into the forest. And the Abomination he unseated turns to face me. This one is as tall as the previous one, with the same empty, dark orange eyes, the powerful snout and jaw, his hand clasped around a spear. He snorts as he approached, swinging the weapon like it is an extension of his arm.

she ambled backwards, still maintaining eye contact. “Lupomancer. Half werewolf, half Melbringer. An abomination.” Her voice was laced with venom. “A disruption to the natural order. A contradiction that shouldn’t exist.” Abomination. The word replayed in my mind, sharp and chilling. That was the same thing my doppelgänger called me. Hearing it again in reality and not in a dream made me feel worse. I felt like the ground beneath me had cracked open, springing up everything I thought I had kept hidden.

I dialed Claire's number,the number that I had memorised if this exact reason. Thankfully she answered after 3 rings, just hearing her voice had the hot tears rolling down my cheeks.
