Adeline From Haunting Adeline Novels & Stories

Present day 2 years later, in 2017 Adeline’s POV: I awoke suddenly with a distasteful sensation. The domino effect of first seeing where I am; home? Check. What’s that awful smell; alcohol breath? Check. That toe curing sensation; migraine. Lavishing, amazing, lovely! I would say I would never go within a 5-meter diameter with alcohol but who am I kidding, I’ve said that since freshman year in university.

“There you are.” Elyra watched carefully as the woman walked directly toward them. Too directly. Zevarion’s expression cooled slightly beside her. Interesting. “You disappeared for months,” Adeline continued smoothly before finally noticing Elyra standing beside him. “And you brought someone.” Someone. Elyra’s irritation sharpened instantly. Zevarion’s voice remained calm. “Elyra.” Adeline’s eyes moved over her slowly before smiling politely. “I’ve heard about you.” Elyra smiled back just as politely. “Hopefully only good things.”

Mackenzie Holt, my best friend, is dating Caleb Lowe, an abusive man. I grab her and make a run for it after she gets beaten up again and is left with a swollen, bruised face. Caleb, however, catches us before we can get away. Upon seeing Caleb charging at us with a knife, Mackenzie immediately shoves me aside and runs to him. "Adeline's the one who forced me to run away! You know how much I love you, Caleb! How could I ever leave you?" I feel my blood run cold, and in the next second, the cold blade pierces my abdomen. I open my eyes again, only to find myself on a train.
