she said, her voice deeper, like distant waves, "do you remember the fire?" He stopped, looked at the sun, then at the book. "I remember... a dream," he said. "A market, a girl who saved the stars. But it was just a dream, right?" June scanned the park. Under a tree, she spotted an old man in a white apron, holding a wooden spoon. He tipped his hat and smiled. Gabe. Alive. Real. June turned back to the book, opening to the last page. The list of the dead was gone. In its place, a new list—a list called "The Living."

Oh, God, why is this happening to me? I took a deep breathe and glanced at him. “I want you to wait for me and I'll find you in the afterlife.”

"Francesca Thomson!" Elijah rushed toward my lifeless body, panic written all over his face as he frantically tried to cover my spurting wound with his hands. However, there was no response. All he could feel was the heat draining from my skin with every second that passed. "Francesca? Say something! Why would you do something so stupid?" Just as Elijah finished speaking, he watched my body slowly fade into nothing before his very eyes. The weight in his arms suddenly vanished, leaving him frozen in place.

The words 'Book of Life and Death' were printed on it. "The Book of Life and Death?!" He was surprised. Walter and Barry gulped. Was that really the Book of Life and Death?

"After all, I dont have any basis to show you, I only have my gut feel and its not very helpful at all." "But you're right. My scholar is the murderer." "Yeah..." She whispered. "What are we going to do now? What if we die here? What if–" "Shh... calm down Doreen." Alistair said. "I know this book wont allow that." She heaves out a sigh. "I hope you're right." I hope this book wont really forsake us. Because so far, the only good thing that she experienced inside this book is meeting the author itself– Metamorphoses also known as Prince Alistair. Cheesy right? But that's how she truly feel right now. She's thankful that she met the man who's in front of her right now.

I squelched to my knees warily. This must be a dream!!! I shook my head in disbelief. I was completely in awe when a malicious laugh caught my ears. "Ha...Ha...Ha…!"

Vivian conceded, her tone a blend of relenting and caution. "Thank you so much, young lady. You are such a lifesaver," he expressed his gratitude, and a grateful smile adorned Vivian's face. "So, what's the name of the book you are looking for?" Vivian inquired, curiosity coloring her voice. "The White Death," he revealed, and Vivian's eyebrows shot up in surprise at the title. "What kind of book is that?" she asked, her curiosity piqued. "Supernatural," he replied, his gaze intensifying as he locked eyes with her.

Did he… “Did I… Really died?” He whispered. There was no answer. Well that’s to be expected. The house was empty. Barun left somewhere and Miria just went to the neighbor to borrow some spices. No one was around except the little Usha. Jai never thought that afterlife was very… Life-ly. He thought it was supposed to be very dark, with the occasional echo of voices or, well, fiery and menacing with undeads and devils. He never counted himself as a good person. So that’s what he expected if he were to die. This place, however, was none of those things… and he didn’t expect it at all.
