"I was inside the basement of Branson and I found out that there was a book taken from the library." "How are you sure that it is from the library?" I ask. "Have you not noticed that one shelf in the library has one book missing. I mean if you look at the library shelves carefully, there is a number above each shelf. It doesn't signify the number sequence but the total number of books in the shelf. I counted that shelf once and found out that one book was missing. That means only one thing is possible…"

The first being a book. In the book has pages with numbers, 1-18. 1 look at them, realizing its photos of me and him or me, him and Grace. They are placed in chronological order, matching with the number on the page. Tears spring to my eyes at the memories. There’s another, smaller box with a bunch of candy in it, all my favorites. There are also some candles, and another box full of little miscellaneous stuff. It takes me a while to realize what it is.

“Adam, it can’t work.” “Baby...” He pulled me closer to him, with just an inch between us. Staring into his eyes, I could perceive the volume of his breath against my face. “Age is just a number, and there’s nothing else to understand.” I clenched on my Jaws, with held breaths trying to focus on one thing at a time.

"Less than four and it's lonely. Four is the right size for the in-between age. You need enough people that it's not just you but not so many that it becomes something organised." He thought about four as the right size. He thought about the precision — the ten-year-old who had reasoned the social geometry of the in-between age and arrived at a number and the number was right. He thought about the section as the social drawing, the architecture that understood the register of the people before it drew the walls. He thought about Owen reading wood and Miriam reading space and Ada reading light. He thought about Ellie reading people. "May I?" he said, and reached for the sketchbook.

There is nothing inside” she reacted when she saw the content of the book. “It’s just a sample handbound of my story. Besides, where are calculating how we can put all of it in just one book. Look at it, it’s thick because it has 500+ pages” I explained to her. “So don’t expect that it has contents now because it’s just a sample” I added.

But as I look at the ages, I realize there are too many variations between them. Nick would want to make the message something I could find relatively easily, and a convoluted number code would not achieve that.
