Age Of Arrogance Chapter 1 Novels & Stories

“I’m not the one who needs convincing.” God, the arrogance. How was he so certain about this? Not that he was drunk and out of his mind too. I should be pissed off. His arrogance should make me roll my eyes and stumble back to my hotel room and face what was now my life but instead, it makes something hot and dangerous form low in my stomach and between my legs. I have become so shameless. I laugh again at the situation “You realize this is insane, right?” “Well depends on how you look at it cause I am counting on it.”

“Long time, no see, dumb, broke ass. Just look at you, walking home under the rain because you fucking have no money to board a bus or a taxi.” There it is. The arrogance. The need to feel superior. It grates against my nerves instantly. My jaw tightens instantly. Yeah. That’s exactly how this is going to go. I let out a low breath, rolling my shoulders like I’m loosening up already. “Still running your mouth, I see.” His smirk widens, but there’s no humor in it. None. Just something dark and ugly. “You’ve got a lot of nerve,” he continues, voice dropping, eyes narrowing at me. “Stealing my girl like that.”

~Jade’s POV~ I sat and watched Mr. Arrogant stare at me with such hunger, or maybe it was disdain combined with hunger, but I’m not giving up. Kate hadn’t taken her seat yet, so I went to a seat with a better view of Mr. Lombardi. With his gaze on me, I drew my skirt up to my thighs and opened my legs. Since she stole my funds, I have been motivated to do just about anything to piss Kate off. I will steal her next target. Domenico kept his attention fixed on me as he held my scarlet thong to his nose. I parted my legs to give him a better view.

Shit. Just after he said that he opened his eyes and he quickly turn his head into me. My eyes widened from shock. In the back of my mind I didn’t like his arrogance. Yes, he’s good looking but his attitude wasn’t giving any justice. "Are you gonna sleep or stare at me all night?" he asked confidently. I chuckled without any humor. I really have nothing more to say about this one's excessive arrogance. What if he was handsome, it would have been okay if he wasn't bragging. I'm recovering. He’s not handsome at all. Who am I kidding anyways?

“That’s why you killed him?” “Annoy me?” he chuckled, shaking his head. “Why would I kill somebody because they were annoying? I know exactly what you’re doing. Even then…” His sarcastic smile disappeared. She saw him move. But, it was too late. She was on his lap, looking up at his mean face, her head resting on his arm. He leaned down as though he was about to kiss her, and continued, “You always deemed me arrogant. You are the arrogant one. You and your dangerous naivety and that worthless pride,” His voice lowered to a wicked whisper. “I just want to peel all of them away like this piece of clothing.”

The loud laugh of the crowd, reached my ears, making my ears tinge red with embarrassment, "Get up," Garreth’s voice rang out, cold and unforgiving. "Or don’t. Your choice." Shaking, I forced myself to block all the distractions. the world spinning around me. My pride had gotten me into this mess, and now I had to fight my way out of it. "You’re too slow," she muttered, her voice dripping with arrogance. The pity in her eyes was gone now. She was a warrior, and this was a fight.

"I... I wasn't strong. I was just arrogant. It was my arrogance that convinced me that there could never be anything between us, and it was my arrogance that made me refuse to accept that I could be wrong despite everything you showed me." He gave a small smirk as he pulled me back, till I was caged between his body and the cold glass that contained the drawers of watch displays. "Arrogance, huh? Let's teach you humility, then, sweetheart." I have never heard more chilling words. At the ripe age of twenty-six, I thought I had felt everything there was for a woman to feel. Butterflies, desire, and recently, orgasms. This... this was a whole fucking discovery.

“You are just a pathetic, arrogant child who cannot handle a woman putting him in his place! You want to ruin my freedom because your own daddy locked your allowance away like a spoiled little boy!” “Watch your mouth!” I snarled, grabbing her wrist before she could push me again while my own temper flared. “I worked eighteen-hour days to build my own name while you sat on this dusty ranch, hiding behind your father's wealth like a coward. You talk about backbone and legacy, but you are nothing but a hypocritical fraud who uses people to buy her own air!”

Jeremiah lounged back into his seat, his dark blue robe shifting slightly, revealing more of his chest. His smirk was lazy, self-satisfied, the kind that belonged to a man who expected the world to worship at his feet. “There’s no need to fight over me,” he drawled, his voice thick with arrogance. “I have enough to go around. You ladies should learn to share.” I scoffed. I couldn't help it. his pure arrogance made it impossible. His smirk faltered. His brow cocked in question, like he was trying to figure out why I wasn’t swooning at his feet like every other she-wolf he had encountered.

He smirked arrogantly, his words dripping with contempt. "You want money? I have plenty of it! I'll pay whatever you want. Name your price!" he spat, his tone dripping with condescension, as if she were an object for sale. She felt insulted and demeaned. No one had ever looked down on her so shamelessly. Her life may have been far from perfect, but she would never stoop so low as to sell her body for money. Her heart churned with a mix of anger and resentment.
