Game over.
I reach the city and I drive through the streets, headlights cutting through the dusk, I realise that if I want to make any impact, if I want Logan Rossi to even notice the past I carry, I’ll have to find a different angle, a different approach, a game far subtler than confronting loyalty and love that is already rooted in steel and sunlight.
For now, I settle into the silence of the car, letting the city lights wash over me, thinking, planning, calculating. Maddie may smile, may know him as well as she claims, but I am Michelle Morris, and I have never given up on the game, on the fight, or on the man I know will be mine.
