This is an interesting book with intriguing characters and premise. The author does well to draw the audience in and make them part of the story. The narrator feels very genuine, and I began to feel for him. Very well done.

The Game of Heavens and Earth

The Game of Heavens and Earth

Glancing back to the photo, I gasped, “You’re Marcus Aurelius? No, no, no, it can’t be him.” I refused to believe that the Blood Eagle King was Marcus Aurelius. I read so much about him. He was the last great ruler when Rome was in its Golden Age. I went to the bookshelf on my left. The books were mostly about Romans. There were different ones like Sun Tzu’s Art of War and Machiavelli’s The Prince. There was also a book, Meditations, written by Marcus Aurelius himself. “I could really use your wisdom for my crappy life.”

The Alpha King Call Boy

The Alpha King Call Boy

I blurted out next. Kayden looked confused. “Been like… what?” I narrowed my eyes, first pondering how to answer, then realizing I did not need to. Kayden knew what I was talking about. “Alexander is a great warrior,” he finally said. “The greatest of our time. He and I have spent our entire adult lives at war together. It’s difficult to explain to those who have not lived the same kind of life.” “Why has it affected him so much, though? Moreso than… for example, you? Perhaps even other Alphas, other great leaders? I know that you have heard what people say about Alexander.”

Several girls giggle. "Great. Let's start with your notes. I'm pretty sure you know the stories to our formation, and that you all have studied and taken the Werewolf Studies examinations. I have the papers and they have been graded. These will add into your votings. However for this class, you will learn about how the royals rule, their laws and agendas. We'll begin with unit 1, King Stoic, the third." "The King is more famous as King Alexander's father and he is known to have been one of the most soft hearted Alpha King. The Unexpected Heir

It was seemingly authored by James Maxwell himself: "Some legacies are built on sand, others on... Foundations. The Sterling name has always held its secrets close.. Not all secrets stay buried forever. Especially when they concern the cost of power and the forgotten agreements that secured an empire. Look closer, at the crest Alexander. Your father’s greatest achievement or his deepest sin?"

While Javier made his way to Cher’s office, the principal hastily locked the cash in his safe and went to the classroom. Other lecturers had to hold a notice with his signature when they announced an expulsion, but he obviously was not held to the same standard since he was the principal. When the principal reached the classroom, he heard Alexander boasting proudly. “F*ck, who am I? Alexander Swaine, also known as Alexander the Great. The Great, you know? One of the world’s greatest military generals, that’s who Alexander the Great was. What does he represent? He represents authority. This means that I have authority!
