Alice Hoffman Practical Magic Book Set Novels & Stories

Starting from what we are and down to the moment why we ended up here. After that, I didn’t try to take a look at it again, my interest faded when I learned the truth, but not until this morning. After I found it last night inside the same old chest years ago, I decided to open it this morning thinking that Mother would wake up anytime last night while I was scanning her book. “Book of Magic: Your Answers to Everything. 1876.” I uttered as I read the cover. It was fragile and filled with dust and dirt. I did a quick scan and found that some of the pages were crumpled and torn.

It was hand written. She went on, flipping the book and stopping to read through some parts of it. It was a book about spells and she found herself laughing at the silliness of the thought that magic was still in existence. Some of the spells in the book made Matilda to shake her head and conclude that the book had been written during the time that witches existed. Some of the recipes in the book had ingredients like a two day old crow's blood, the crushed bark of a cider tree, four leaved clovers, mint leaves that had bloomed in the summer and many other bizarre ingredients.

“I heard of this book as a kid. It's called the book of forbidden spells. Only to be used when one is in dire danger and needs urgent saving.” She stopped at a page and placed it before me. “That is it. Can you even read it?” The page before me seemed like gibberish, rubbish that I could read. When I shook my head at Magma, she sighed and then leaned forward. “Oops, you have to take that off. I forgot. There is no way you can do magic with it on you. That means you'll dispel energy and your scent. Are you willing to risk being found?* I didn't even need to think about it. That was exactly what I wanted.

They all went home. Alex, when he got home, picked up the book he bought from the store, 'dark practices of magic'. As he opened the book and starts reading it, he begins to learn a lot from magic stances up to spells. For the stances, Alex loves it and even practiced some of it but for the spells, Alex find difficult to use. Each time he tries to cast a spell, he feels an opposite movement of power and the spell won't work. Alex told himself maybe spells casting is not his thing and keeps practicing. As Almond has told him, he has to be more powerful to take control as an alpha in this realm.

A book came out along with his hand, both fully intact. “The Courage to Trust,” by Dr. Franklin Reed. He had to be joking. There were hidden cameras here somewhere, I just knew it. No fucking way was the god of wolves cracking open a self-help book from the mortal realm. Sure enough, he fanned through the book eagerly, skipping over several chapters in the process. The tip of his tongue appeared from between his plump lips. He found the page he’d been looking for and quickly skimmed it. With a satisfied hum, he chucked the book behind his shoulder where it was swallowed up by that strange, shimmering magic.

"Now... now... let's pick up where I left last night. Magic for mind control... Dry a flower of spider lily, and a spider cob, and boil them together. Repeat the subject's name thrice as you add three hair strands from the subject." 'Ehhh? Seriously, this book is ridiculous. Is magic always this weird? What an author... tsk! the author probably published this book to mess with the minds of desperate people,'' says Aileen's mind, but sooner contradicts herself by thinking, 'However, I wouldn't know for sure if it's a real thing or not if I would not try it.' Aileen thought it would be stupid of her to have hope in something little better than a fairytale. But she thought that her options were

"I don't know how to even fucking read.” I bit down in my lip, my mind running with words I could give that'd convince him. "Well, it's not really just a book,” I said, lifting the book back up. "This is a magic spell book that grants all your fucking wishes. You don't even have to read from it. Just open and say whatever the fuck it is that you want, and it magically gives that to you.” Stan arched a brow. "And why haven't you used it to get you some food?”

Not that Jon had anything to say to her. The day had been taken up by this seemingly fruitless search, until in the dingiest part of the store, in a crumbling red book published in 1900, he found the name. The Book of Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage was filled with weird double-talk, esoteric terms, confusing graphics, and yawn-inducing florid language, but the name was there—as was his invocation.

Damian tried to deny it. I raised my right hand and began to chant an ancient spell. "Let time rewind." Golden light formed a massive magical screen in the center of the hall. Damian and Isla's conversation in the secret room played out for everyone to see: "Her power is too great. We need to find a way to take it." "A bloodline curse is the only way. We'll use our child's blood as the medium." "Once we succeed, she'll become a common human, and you will have all her magic."

"How do I learn the Magic you are doing? Is there a book of Spells somewhere." Turning in his seat he looked at her. "There is I will bring it by the Palace later when you have officially calmed down. When trying to do magic when you are upset tends to go wrongly and we do not want that. The more angry you are the more the magic tends to amplify and cause you to do the wrong things." Closing her eye's Belle stood there shaking her head. "Whatever, I need to get going. I have a lot of work to finish up, and I am basically leaving the entire senior class on their own on Prank Day. Not exactly the wisest idea."
