Alice Hoffman Practical Magic Series Novels & Stories

There is little of information about her though, since she's new to their world, and they don't know that. "This report of yours have little data about her." The elf stated. "Ignore such nonsense. I want you to kill her right away." the hooded man commanded seriously before walking away. "Got it." the elf simply responded, "This will be easy." Meanwhile, Mayari and Helen are in the garden. This is the first day of Mayari's magic lesson. "Let's start with the element water." Helen announced, "Water magic is easy to learn and is less destructive."

Robert nodded with a hint of grimace on his face. "Then I'll have to explain everything to you first," Lucas sighed, "We are able to cast spells because of our magic circuits. It is like our veins, carrying another magical liquid, like our blood that flows through our body.” He showed his opened palm. It flashed and shone brighter, where a golden liquid came out of his palm, floating into the air, like glowing ribbons circling him. “This is the magical liquid I’m speaking of … it’s called alar.” "Alar? But why do I feel like my strength was depleted after overusing my magic?"

"I can't just turn off my magic." "You can try." "That's not how it works." Voss lowered her hand and gave me a look that would have made a younger wolf flinch. "You nearly died, child. Your heart stopped twice. Your magic is unstable and your body is weak and if you push yourself too hard you will end up right back in this bed." She paused. "Do you want to end up back in this bed?" "No." "Then no magic." I opened my mouth to argue and closed it because she was right and I hated when she was right.

Like now, with Alice butchering supernatural terminology while ignoring actual parent words. "You're a terrible influence," Sarah teased, rescuing her daughter from Luna's grasp. "Teaching babies about defensive magic." "I didn't teach her! She just absorbed it through proximity!" Luna protested. "I'm very careful about age-appropriate content in my classes." "Uh-huh. Which is why a seven-month-old's second word is a magical term." Sarah kissed Alice's head. "You're lucky she's adorable." Alice chose that moment to create a tiny flicker of energy around her fist. Not a shield, barely even visible, but definitely supernatural.

I was sitting on the porch with my dad and he was trying to teach me an old tactic that the Alphas usually use to keep a prisoner still with magic. Magic. It was old, time immortal magic. It was the kind of magic that should not have faded, the kind that I should have preserved. I shouldn’t even have avoided it for that long. It had faded in my memory, but being the Alpha, I could easily summon it. I inhaled deeply, trying to seek that deep calm that came with the command of the spirit. “You will stay here and wait for me,” I said to the prisoner.

Margot turns back to the mirror, just staring at her reflection – my reflection twice, really. She shakes her head, raising a hand to her cheek and softly touching it like she’s not sure it’s real. “This shouldn’t be possible.” I hesitate. “Why not?” “The magic,” she murmurs, leaning over the sink to inspect her face, turning it this way and that to observe the incredible effects of the spell. “It’s not that powerful. It’s just a little cantrip – a joke spell…”

As I reached the second spell, rain began to lash against the windows, conjured by my magic into a stormy tempest outside. Chanting the final spell, I felt my aura blaze brightly, casting a glow around me as I wove the magic that would erase Alpha's memories. The intensity of my focus was palpable, each word spoken with unwavering determination. I visualized the specific memories, carefully unraveling them from Alpha's mind, layer by layer, until they were no more.

My jaw drops open and I huff a disbelieving little laugh. “Jackson, I can’t make flames.” “The flashpoint of wood is far lower than the temperature at which glass melts, Clark,” Jackson replies, raising an eyebrow at me. I narrow my eyes at my mate, not liking this smug new attitude. Or that he’s right. “What…what’s happening?” Seraphina whispers, looking at me and then up at Jacks. “Ariel is going to do magic,” Jackson whispers back, ducking his head low in pretend secrecy. “Want to see?”

“And what could you possibly show us that could be valid? Your word means nothing here‚ absolutely nothing.” Sharon ignored her nonsense spewing‚ closing her eyes in order to focus. She reached out to her inner self mentally‚ searching for the threads of time when Alice had taught her to manipulate. Her hand rose up high instinctively‚ and the air shimmered around them. “What on earth is she doing?” someone from the crowd whispered. The shimmer grew increasingly‚ and suddenly‚ images began to materialize in the air. There were gasps of echos as the pack watched scenes unfold‚ Mirabel meeting with the rogues secretly‚ plotting against Jake and the pack‚ and Killian standing by as their scheme

A bolt of lightning shot across the floor, breaking the magic circle Silke had made so carefully with black magic. Maddie made a circular movement with her left hand and cast a spell. The green energy cloud, which formed in her hand, spun like a whirlwind and got bigger and bigger. It whirled at Raven until he circled him and lifted him above the ground. Maddie pointed the staff at Silke and a flash of light hit her right in the heart, to rid her of all the magic. She fell to the stone floor, with horror in her eyes. Her white hair turned red again.
