Making Past Perfect
Johnson reassured her, sitting on a nearby log and beckoning Alice to join him.
Alice sat beside him, gathering the fallen fruit. She peeled one and took a bite. To her delight, it tasted as good as it looked. “Here, try it. It’s delicious!” she said, offering one to Johnson.
“Hmmm, it is sweet!” he said, smiling. “But not as sweet as you,” he added with a grin.
“I am not sweet. I’m weird,” Alice laughed softly.
Curious, Alice tried using her telekinetic power again. More fruit fell, but after a few attempts, she felt drained.
