As the night comes to a close, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. I can't stop thinking about my mate, and I know that I need to find her. Suddenly, a voice in my head. Beth, the gorgeous brunette, is not the Luna, but she will be. Her father, Will, my unwanted tattoo artiste, is the current beta, making her one of the elite ranks in our pack just by his title. There is nobody higher than beta besides alpha and luna. And Beth has her claws set so deep in our alpha that we all know she is the next luna.

By my ear, his deep voice whispered, “They’ve accepted you, my love.” I had no chance to respond before a man approached us—the Beta. Yes, the same one who had looked at me strangely before. Strange. He still looked at me that way, as if something about me was off, as if he had a thousand questions he wanted to demand. “Congratulations, Alpha,” he said to Dario, before turning to me. “May the Moon Goddess bless you, Luna, and guide our pack.” Dario smiled. “Yes.” He then gestured toward me. “My love, this is Johnny Barker, my Beta.”

“For a while, I’ve wanted something badly, without actually realizing I’ve wanted that. And yesterday… for a moment, I thought… I have it. That it’s real. It’s true. Tell me, is it true?” A smile spreads across Melony’s face but it fades away just as soon. “Have you ever heard of an alpha being able to telepathically communicate with the beta of another pack? Only an alpha can communicate with members of his pack. But,” she pauses, looking away. “Do you know who else can communicate through minds despite not sharing a pack?” For a moment her words seem too good to be true. But I know that they make complete sense. My heart begins racing in my chest and I feel breathless all at the same time.

“The Blood Oath is Morgan’s. Though he said whenever I was ready, he would pass the club over to me. But I’m not interested in running a club.” Bryan put his hands on his head. “Alpha, that’s the club I wanted you to go to! The one that I said had the bomb singer that was starting.” His eyes lingered back to me. “I can’t believe it’s our Luna.” I chuckled. “I’m not that good.” “The reviews say otherwise. They say you can charm even the most stoic Fey.” I blushed and kept my head down. “So my Luna is talented in may ways.” Logan brought my hand to his lips and kissed it. “I have a very long conversation to have with Alpha Leo. But I need to run into the office real quick.”

I broke the branch I saw since it won’t fit on the sack I was holding, “Then, the tribe leader’s wife, which is the Luna, was said to be a witch, that whoever tries to go here and find an evidence to their child’s existence will be killed,” “Wait, why did they choose to take away the girl, instead of the boy?” Anika asked, she joined us late, good thing, we have spare space for her. “The boy is the next leader, they called it Alpha,” I almost choked when I heard that, a familiar word, however, I didn’t know why it has such effect on me. I’m not interested about those fictional stories, I mean, yes, I read fictional novels, but not a fan of legends and stuffs.

The alpha has salt and pepper hair, and silvery-grey eyes, while the luna’s hair still has some raven-black strands mixed in with white. I take in a long breath and pray to the Moon for courage. It isn’t very often any pack will attempt to make a truce with another.

I crouched beside her, reaching to help, but she pushed me back blindly, her fingers clawing at empty air. “Kendrick, please,” she cried. “Help me. I can’t see or hear you, but I can smell you. Please.” My throat tightened. I couldn’t look away. Kendrick laughed under his breath, the sound sharp and cruel. “You’re getting soft, Hunter,” he said, looking at me. “How are you even the Alpha of a pack?” I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. Because now I understood. This girl,this fragile, trembling soul,was his Luna.

I quickly took a seat. “This man here is the Alpha of the Moonblood Pack. He is here to take you as his Luna.” Is this real? How could an Alpha I had never met be asking for my hand in marriage? How did he know where I lived and whom to ask? None of it made sense, but the only thing I could hold onto was that my prayer of leaving the Duncan Pack had been answered. I could finally be free of this hell. “What is your answer, Zara?” Alpha Caleb asked, locking his eyes with mine. I quickly looked away, too confused to speak.

"Did you find out what I need?" When he nodded his head, my eyes diverted to what he was holding, and he handed it to me immediately. "I found out everything there is to find out about her, and I don't think they're so good afterall Alpha." I arched my brows hearing this, "What do you mean?" "She's from the Blood crest pack Alpha. She bears the mark of the Alpha's daughter and her late mother gamma Roselia." First I thought I heard wrong. "What?" I questioned Daniel for a second time. "What the hell would the daughter of blood crest pack be doing in the dark moon pack?"
