I broke from the pack and sprinted directly toward the Architect. If we could not kill the army, we had to sever the connection. "Stop her!" the architect shrieked, scrambling backward from his consoles. Two Royal Guards intercepted me. They raised their rifles, but Ashren was faster. The Alpha moved like a shadow cast by the sun. He blurred across the throne room, grabbing the barrels of both plasma rifles with his bare hands. The superheated metal hissed against his palms, but he forced the weapons upward just as they fired, sending the lethal bolts crashing harmlessly into the glass ceiling.

I smirked at my own joke. “That was an awful joke, Harlow,” Joe said over the headset. “Oh, come on, that was funny,” I said in English. “Ready for the next question?” I looked at them both, and they nodded. “Great. Shaking my head, I open my eyes and answer him flatly, “Honestly, I don’t know where I was going, but to me it seemed that I was intruding, and I didn’t want to bother you any longer.” “Woman. I was merely calming her and assuring her that everything would be alright.” He says in a louder tone than he should have because now everyone is staring at us. The pack members don't waste time in running back to their homes, leaving me with less fighters. Some refuse to leave, promising to fight alongside the alpha they say they choose to follow.

Nora said out loud. “What?” Matt asked. “Being forced to do things you don't want to do because someone said you should.” Nora said her eyes brow in a frown. “That's why the person who becomes Alpha has to be a good person, they put their pack before everything. The position is scaracred. “ Dante spoke up. “The Beta is second in command. He is the Alpha’s right hand and helps him through everything.” Matt said, shaking Dante’s shoulder. “Then there’s Gamma, which is Wyatt.” Matt said with a smile.

I smiled so she knew I understood. "Alpha Draven, we will forever owe you our gratitude for ensuring the safety of our niece. We would like to invite you and Aura to a feast in your honor on our pack lands. Aura may have been forced to be a rogue by her father, but she has always been a member of Bright Moon Pack, therefore, our alliance is hereby sealed permanently." Alpha Oren held out his hand for me, I took it. All four of us howled together in agreeance. Aura smiled happily still holding her Aunt's hand. Alpha Oren opened his arms to her, and to my surprise, she didn't hesitate when she hugged him.
