*** Thorran's friend arrived the next day early in the morning. I was lingering in my room, packing my things when I heard a foreign voice speak from inside the suite. I've never heard that accent before, so curiously, I peak my head around the corner, seeing who will be helping Thorran track where the letter had come from. It takes me a moment to recognize who they are. It's Alpha Archer of the Freedom Pack. He looks so much taller in person and significantly more muscular than I've seen in in the books. He might not be as tall as Thorran, but he still looks intimidating. They don't seem to notice me watching from the doorway, so I keep quiet, observing.

I respected them both as did Mykel and if even after knowing all the details they still refused to give us aid, we would respect their decision. I understood their hesitation, but this war was something that would eventually hit them too. Maybe not today, but it would eventually. Alaric was out for power and what better way to do that than acquire packs as his own. With Ruby Wood being neutral to Blood Moon it made them a potential future target. I wished we didn’t need to ask them to take part, but the Gods had made it clear. I wasn’t to intervene as the Moon Goddess, but they didn’t say anything about me interfering as an Alpha. Something we hoped would be our saving grace.

Everyone checked out identical to their original references. An Alpha command is a command that is the highest of its kind. When you are under Alpha command you cannot lie and must do or answer what is asked of you. It’s like a built-in lie detector that an Alpha uses to rule their pack. Drake also had not gathered any new intel from the High Moon Pack – the rogue pack “gone good” as I like to joke to myself. I am struggling to understand the concept; hence the delay in us signing a full alliance with Drake and the Blue Moon Pack.

My wolves were already moving through the paralyzed ranks, stripping the invaders of their weapons and silver armor. "What do we do with the captured units, Alpha?" my lead beta warrior asked, bowing his head so low his forehead nearly touched the blood-slicked stones. The entire pack was looking at me now, not just with loyalty, but with a terrifying, religious awe. Fifty of the Smith’s Pack elite warriors poured out, weapons raised, with some shifting halfway into their wolf forms. "Alpha!" They all called out. Alfred, the butler and unexpected tactical commander, jumped out of the lead vehicle. He was flanked by Gamma Reid and the Pack Enforcer too, a massive wolf named Tor. They ran toward the smoking ruins, definitely expecting to find a corpse or at most, a severely injured person almost at the brink of death. They stopped dead at the edge of the green circle, shocked. The warriors lowered their guns instantly. Their jaws dropped. They took control of the coast line packs when number dropped to less than a few hundred & have been an incredible ally for us. Then Idris, quiet and deliberate, from a pack that controlled the northern hunting grounds, older wolves with strong survival instincts. Their presence was calm, measured nothing flashy, just the precision of experience.

"Honestly shout. It could add some personality to you.” I slipped past her into the room. Sunlight streamed through the drapes illuminating the dust floating in the air. I put on my jeans and a tank top, my mind wandering back, to places I earnestly wanted to escape. Asher. My stomach tightened. Simply saying his name felt like inviting turmoil to flood my veins. He was my brother’s ally, the Alpha of the IronClaw pack a figure whose presence made enemies hesitate and inspired wolves to rise with pride. Command draped in leather. Determination. I hesitated for a fraction of a second before stepping forward, plastering on a confident smirk. The crowd's eyes turned to me, their gazes hungry for blood.
