CORALINA'S POV The morning air in the Alpha’s study is cool and smells of old leather, parchment, and the lingering, sharp scent of Clyde’s sandalwood. I haven't slept more than four hours, my mind still buzzing with the lines of code I laid into the Aegis-Locate honeypot, but I cannot remain in that bed once the sun is up. The mattress is slightly sunken in the place where Maximus has left vacant, and the white sheets seem to be asking a question I’m not ready to answer yet.

I fall asleep faster than I have in months. Which is why I don’t notice, in the quiet hours before dawn, the pillow barrier slowly disappearing — one by one, each pillow slipping silently to the floor. And why I definitely don’t notice when I wake at 6 AM, warm and entirely too comfortable, that my head is on Adrian Knight’s chest. His arm is around me. And he is very, very awake.

I murmured to myself, but I knew he could hear me. His body froze, but then he sighed and leaned back into the chair again. "Who's Al?" The Alpha asked. I shot my head up again. "What?" I asked in a horrified look. "You muttered this name a lot when you were out." The Alpha squinted his eyes at me, and that made him look almost angry now. "I don't talk in my sleep." I denied it immediately. I had to keep so many secrets in my whole life, I would never talk in my sleep!

Out of habit, I opened the smart-home app on my phone to adjust the temperature in the master bedroom. My thumb slipped. I tapped into the sleep report from the smart mattress. Adrian had insisted on replacing it the month before, claiming it might help with my insomnia. The report showed two sets of heart-rate data in the master bedroom on the second night of his so-called business trip. From eleven at night until two in the morning, there were two distinct spikes. Nothing like the data from the nights I slept there alone. And I knew exactly where I had been that week. At my parents’ house.

He is now standing right beside Weston’s sleeping face dumbly, clearly not himself and not knowing why he’s been so bold as to enter the Head Alpha’s bedroom- Weston’s bedroom. Instead of being alert or unnerved, instead of fearing his awakeness, Millan wishes for it. He wishes he could just curl up next to Weston, basking in his scent, comforted and content. He wouldn’t do that though. He’d be thrown out of the room for sure, maybe even thrown out of the territory. I nod my head and as he pulls the door shut, I panic. “You won’t lock me in?” Alpha Elijah raises his eyebrows at me. “Why would I do that? If you get scared or worried in the night, my room is right next door.” As he walks out the room, he leaves the door open a little, I think just to prove he wasn’t locking it. For the first time in months, I had the best night’s sleep

He tightened his fist, his gaze furrowed in anger. He massage his temple, scarring his brow together. He plopped down, laying flat, faced down on his bed.Falling into a deep sleep. *** Adria opens the door carefully with a small iron metal.She tip toed into the room, making sure no one heard her footsteps. She hovered over a fast asleep Alden, snoring heavily in his sleep. She mention few incantations rounding the charm around Alden’s head a few times. She kissed him on his lips and smile mischievously.

Linessa twisted in her sleep; the same sleep she’d begrudged falling in last night. She’d stayed up for as long as she could, watching the door to see if Alpha Zhamar would come in and try marking her against her will. He didn’t come, but as she opened her eyes with a long, tired yawn, she found that she had the survival instincts of a damn fly…for here right beside her bed sat the culprit she spent her whole night trying catch.

I murmured, my voice thick with sleep, slipping my hand between the softness of her chest— And then I froze. That scent wasn’t Lena. It was so unnatural. My eyes shot open, and I jerked up just to see Alison lying beside me. “What the hell?!” I shouted, scrambling back on the bed. Alison blinked at me slowly, her lashes fluttering as she stirred awake like she had no care in the world. She smiled lazily. “Good morning, Alpha,” she purred, reaching for me again. “Come back to sleep. You loved what we did last night…”

I stood shaking in fear wondering what the Alpha is going to do to me. "Alpha, it's past 10 in the morning and you're still sleeping? Is this not strange?'' Ursula asked the Alpha who still looked enraged "Did you finish the file?" The Alpha asked me ignoring his beta "No" I shook my head negatively, my lips trembling in fear "Why were you sleeping next to me, how dare you?" "I….I…..I…." "Fucking speak!" He groan hitting his hand on the wall, I fell to my knees immediately "I….you were shaking in your sleep so I held onto your hand and you stopped that's all my King nothing else," I said all at once with my head bowed
