Adrienne POV When the first rays of sunlight filtered in through the tiny crack in the drapes, I was still telling myself what I'd been chanting in my head throughout the night, and a long night it was. I'd thought the Alpha was asleep already when I'd pulled myself up to bed, but I was proven wrong when, a really wrong time later, his breathing suddenly became deep and soft snores emanated from him. I realized that he had been awake the whole time, keeping an ear out. For me? I told myself to discard that thought.

ADELIA'S POV I woke up slowly every where was still dark, liking the enveloping warmth surrounding me,firm and muscular arms holding my waist. It somehow makes me feel slightly better, I know it's crazy to miss them while they're in the same room as me but I do. I sleep restlessly between my Alpha's that night, noone comes to bother me. I wake up, wash my mates faces and go to change for the day, I slip on a white tee shirt and a pair of sweat pants and my white chunky trainers and pull my long blonde hair back in to a ponytail out of my face. I prop open the bedroom door and give the nurses a knock to let them know they can go in to them. I put a door jam in the door of Ajax office so I can hear anything along our corridor and open the laptop in there. I log in to my emails and set my phone on the desk next to me.

In the past, I would have already pulled her into my arms and kissed her. This time, though, I saw the glaring red marks on her neck. I swallowed the wave of disgust and gently pushed her away, pointing it out. "Your neck." Her face went pale for a split second, and she quickly tugged her nightdress up to cover the hickeys. "Oh, you mean this? I… I accidentally bumped into something yesterday. I didn't even notice it myself." My heart turned completely cold when she continued to lie to me. I didn't expose her further and simply responded with a flat "Hmm."

CORALINA'S POV The morning air in the Alpha’s study is cool and smells of old leather, parchment, and the lingering, sharp scent of Clyde’s sandalwood.
