The moon hung low in the night sky as I felt the eerie transformation grip my body. My senses heightened, and the air thickened with tension. I grabbed a fleeing man and asked him to tell me. Being able to mindlink in human form was one surprisingly useful perk of being an alpha. “Ok, Alpha,” he replied. Luke looked at me. “Well, that sucks.” “Yes, yes it does,” I replied. We spent the next hour continuing our conversation about fund allocation. The accountant and office manager were both competent, having survived my father who would never have put up with anything less than, so the conversation didn’t take any longer than that. As soon as we were done, Luke and I headed outside and drove over to Mike’s patrol station. When we arrived, Mike bared his neck in submission. “Good morning, Alpha, Beta.”

I rested my forehead against her hand, her skin icy against my fevered touch. A sharp knock at the door startled me. I didn’t move, my focus still on Alison, until the door opened, and Beta Luke stepped inside. His usually confident demeanor was replaced by something raw.. grief, perhaps, or anger. “Alpha,” he said quietly, his gaze darting to Alison. For a moment, his eyes shimmered, but he blinked back the tears. “What is it?” I asked, my voice rough. Luke stepped forward and held out a small device. Alison’s phone.

It clattered into the sink, followed by a few drops of dark, sluggish blood. Luke stood there, half-shifted, his muscles bulging under the hospital gown. He looked terrifying. He looked perfect. "The silver is gone," he growled, his voice a deep, resonant hum. "You're a maniac," Cass said, breathless. "I'm an Alpha," Luke corrected. He shifted back, his skin smoothing over, leaving only a faint, pink scar where the hole had been. He looked at Cass and winked. "Now, let’s go find my father. We have a pack to lead."

I couldn't afford to be compassionate. "Alpha... I love you," Lily's voice rang in my ears, making me turn instantly. "I didn't know how to say it, but I will miss you," she cried bitterly, and I remained motionless, observing her movements. "I love you, Supreme Alpha Luke Blackwoold." Please note that there seems to be a typographical error in the character's name, "Luke Blackwoold." It should be corrected to "Luke Blackwood."

Alex growled, his eyes glowing gold. The other alpha's eyes grew wide, and he immediately got up and off the bar stool and backed away. "I'm sorry, Alpha." "What's your name?" Alex growled. "It's Earth alpha." "Well, Earth, I don't ever want to see you at my club again. Now get out of my sight." Earth nodded and ran out to the club. Alex turned his attention to Ash and could see how tense he was. Alex closed his eyes and then opened them as he wrapped his arms around Ash once more.

“It’s just gonna be very intense, very hot and very...wet. you know what I mean?” Alex cast a glance back towards the living room and swallowed. Alvin went on, his tone taking on a doctorly edge, “It might go on a bit longer than usual because he hasn’t had one in a while. Just remember that as his heat Alpha it’ll be your job to make sure he stays hydrated and satisfied.” Alex shook his head as his cousin sniggered on the other end of the line. “I’m—I’m I am his Alpha but he, he not going to let me do anything.”
