They cheered louder, their voices a chorus of hope and trust in them. But beneath the cheers, Luke leaned in close to Lawrence, his voice a teasing whisper in the Alpha’s ear. “They seem pleased with this, don't they?” Lawrence remained silent for a moment, his eyes distant, before finally responding, “If only they knew who you truly are.” Luke’s eyes sparkled with a secret as he smiled softly, “Soon enough, they’ll surely assert the fact that I’m the first Zega to become the Alpha.”

“Because your friend… is already dying.” Silence filled the room, broken only by Dante’s shallow, ragged breathing. The healer slowly turned to Luke, eyes narrowed in worry and fascination. “Tell me about the Alpha who did this,” she said quietly. “Who is she and whose child is she?” Luke shook his head helplessly. “I know nothing about her,” he murmured. “I only know… she was a Luna who became an Alpha.” The healer froze, her breath catching in her throat. “A Luna…” she whispered. “Who became an Alpha?”

That question was swirling around in my head. I got up slowly, though my head still felt a little dizzy. My gaze swept across the room, searching for Luke's whereabouts. Where is he? The question kept haunting me, but his figure was nowhere to be seen. I turned to Doctor Mike, trying to calm myself down even though my heart was filled with anxiety. "Doctor Mike, where is Alpha?" I asked, my voice hoarse and full of anxiety. Doctor Mike paused for a moment, looking at me with a calm yet alert expression. "Alpha Luke went to the tower with Beta, Delta, Gamma, and the Warriors," he replied simply.

And I would do whatever it took to prove myself worthy of his trust. As we stepped into the lair, the imposing figure of Lucan rose from his seat, his rugged features etched with a mix of curiosity and caution. "I'm Lucan,The Alpha" he declared, his voice deep and resonant, "and to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?" His gaze swept across our group, lingering on Ragnar and West as if trying to discern which one held the higher rank.

I hear cheering and howling, but for some reason, it all fades as I look into his bright blue eyes. “Lindsey, you are the most incredible person I’ve ever met. You’re smart, beautiful, talented, kind, and so much more. I never knew I could love until I met you. In a few short months, you’ve completely changed my world, and I’ll forever be grateful.” He takes both of my hands and pulls me to face him. “I know this is sudden, but I hope it will be a welcome surprise.” Brady stands before me, his eyes sparkling. “I, Brady Black, future alpha of the Black Forest pack, accept Lindsey Holder as my mate and my Luna.”

Mother, on the other hand, tuned out anything that didn’t involve social prestige or designer labels. My lips parted in shock. Alpha Kael Dravaryn had been circulating through every pack like wildfire over the past few months. His name appeared in conversations that ended abruptly, the moment someone noticed they were being overheard. No one spoke of him casually. He was the most feared Alpha in the region, a man who had recently lost his Luna and been left to raise two young children alone. The whispers about her death were endless and never consistent. Some claimed the Alpha had lost control one night, his temper finally turning lethal, which caused her death.

I had to find Lukas. I ran through the training grounds, back into the pack house. I searched every place. His study, the council room, the bedroom. Nothing. I tried calling but it went straight to voicemail. I grabbed a maid who was passing by. “Do you know where the Alpha is?”. “Uh….he left a few minutes ago with Beta Micheal” I cursed under my breath. There was no time and I had no choice but to leave without telling him. I casted the spell and opened my eyes in Kate's apartment.

I sprinted as fast as I could, sinking my teeth into every opponent I encountered. My focus shifted to Alpha Agni, who was struggling to stay on his feet amidst the onslaught of adversaries. Keahi, too, found himself immobilized, as another Alpha soldier stood in his path, preventing him from reaching Agni. Alpha Agni was not just the Alpha of Blue Moon pack, he was also a parental figure to both me and Keahi, my best friend. Without his guidance, it was uncertain where we would find ourselves at this moment. Perhaps a slave, serving some arrogant Alphas?

Elder Lukas cut in, “we both know those creatures aren't of much use to us.” He turned to the rest of the elders. “We all remember how the late Alpha ruled with an iron fist. Humans weren't even allowed as slaves during his reign. They were executed on sight.” Several elders murmured in agreement. “He ruled as a true king should.” “Alpha,” Lukas continued, “I am simply speaking the mind of every elder here and we all believe you're being too lenient with these creatures.” I raised a brow. “Excuse me?” But he continued, either oblivious to the tension in the room or intentionally ignoring it.

"No. I just need to leave. I'm sorry I brought this trouble here and that I can't give you notice, but I'm leaving town. Like, right now." Luke nods but doesn't step aside, effectively still blocking the way out. "You don't need to go, and we don't need the police. I can take that weedy little Alpha pup in my sleep." I huff a short laugh, Enzi is many things, but a "weedy little Alpha pup" he is not.
