My uneven breathing filled the quiet air. Ash’s brows were drawn together, his scarred lip tilted slightly downward. “What do you need?” He finally asked. I frowned slightly. “What?” “You want answers,” he said. “So tell me what you need to get them.” I stared at him. This was Ash. Alpha of the Talon pack. Once a beta who claimed the title for himself by killing the alpha of his pack. Unlike Ryker and Kade, he wasn't an alpha by birth. Wasn't selfless. Or at least that was what I thought.

“Warriors, I hope we haven’t been lagging off in my absence?” “No, Alpha,” everyone said in unison, a symphony of heavy masculine voices. “We will see,” Asher said. “Graham, Reed…anything we need to worry about?” I wasn’t sure, but I noticed his eyes narrow at the leader of the warrior for a second. “No Alpha,” Graham shook his head. He was a hefty guy with slick blonde hair, tattoos and piercings and gave off really evil vibes. “Just a few rogues here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary,” he added.

I didn’t need my abilities to know she was wondering what the hell Shaun Hunter, the alpha’s son, was doing with a loser of an omega like me. As soon as I was inside, Declan fist bumped Shaun like they were best friends and Alisha pulling at her hem so her neckline was lower. After she made a bee line for him and fluttered her lashes at him as she bit her lower lip to look seductive. No one even looked in my direction. I shook my head and headed up stairs as Declan tried to act like he and Shaun were best friends and Alisha was acting like they were mates or something. That idea made me shudder. I wouldn’t wish Alisha on any guy, especially Shaun.

Ava’s POV I sit in the former Luna’s office going over the paperwork of all the programs put in place for the pups when the door opens and, “Beta Ava.” I look up at him and that’s when I see Alpha Shane standing behind him. I stand and nod, “Alpha Shane,” and then smile, “Beta Killian, this is a surprise, please come in.” They enter and Killian shuts the door as Alpha Shane sits opposite my desk, I sit down and fold my hands on top of my desk, “what can I do for you Alpha Shane?”

Nothing happens at all. “You do know who I am, don’t you?” Shane sneers. Mack nods. “Alpha of the Dacre pack. I’m Mack, alpha of the Winter Lake pack.” He knows. How does Mack know? Did Bennett tell him? Shane looks like he’s waiting for Mack to say more, but when he doesn’t, he shifts his focus to me. His expression hardens. “Looks like I’ll be leaving bodies behind, after all. I have no problem with yours being one of them if you pull any of the shit you tried earlier.”
