Sonia chirped in. He let out a sigh, grabbing his phone to call his men. He informed them about everything and after the call ended, we discussed a bit before I left. I sat in the bar, downing shots of whiskey as my mind revolved around one thing. Nothing more aside from that one thing. What does it mean to be thinking about one thing constantly even when you have other things in mind? Does it mean you're obsessed? Or captured? Or perhaps worried? None of these was this answer.

The wind rushes past me. My chest burns. My mind races. Throwing possibilities at me I don’t want to consider. Please. The word repeats over and over in my head. Please be alive. Because if he’s not… Then whoever did this just made themselves my next problem.

But it was there nonetheless. Hovering. It didn't help whenever I saw a pregnant woman. Or when I hear someone mention kids. My mind always drifted back to her involuntarily. She was always there, at the back of my mind. It made it so difficult to fucking think. And I couldn't have that. Not when my workload was now double of what it used to be. “Damn. You sure you don't need to see a therapist bro?” Nolan's voice rang out from the phone in my hand.

And yet, I could feel it — a presence, a weight pressing down on my apartment, my life, my body. By mid-morning, I tried to focus on work, logging into my laptop to catch up on emails and project updates. But even the sterile glow of the screen couldn’t keep my mind from spinning. My inbox pinged repeatedly, each notification a potential reminder that someone was always watching, always lurking.

There is one thing on my mind I want to do. “If Chase is coming, let me talk to him.”

I heaved a sigh. It's been quite hard but not unbearable as the thoughts of Allan always cross my mind. I didn't know how or why I just could not stop thinking about him. It was as if I had a constant reminder in my mind that was always taking my thoughts in his direction. "How is he doing where he is?" I usually ask myself this question and sometimes I try to act like I don't care at all while other times, it completely weighs me down and I just want to know where he is and how he is fairing.

She keeps haunting my fucking mind. Those little sweet moans of hers fills my ears, drowning everything else. Image after image keeps popping up in my head that it gets harder to dwell on a particular thought. There's the one with her in my arms. I remember the warmth of her against me. Another image comes up, this one a vivid image of her on my bike. Hissing under my breath, my eyes open and I hit the bag, pushing it away from me. The fact that my eyes are open does not stop the images from showing up.

it all haunted me. What’s going on with me? The question clawed at my mind, a relentless, unanswered plea. Why can’t I just stop thinking about that girl? "You’re worried about her," Slade’s voice suddenly flooded into my mind, his tone laced with an edge of concern I wasn’t used to hearing from him. "You’re worried about Avery. But you won’t admit it, will you?"

That stupid tiny voice at the back of my mind yet again interrupted my thought. “Okay dude we need to schedule you breaking in my thoughts, like damn I was checking my boss out. Besides I never knew who my mom was.” I replied myself as if I’m fighting a colleague; back in my mind. “If she is the most as you said then isn’t your chocolate a lady anymore?” “Dude are you even listening?!” I yelled in my own fucking mind. “Oh where at Zendaya and Victoria?!”
