Amber stood in the center of the room, systematically smashing the portraits of successive Chase Alphas that lined the walls.
Her eyes glowed amber, her claws extended as she swung the silver bat at a family portrait, sending glass and frame fragments flying.
"Amber," I called softly, approaching her with careful steps.
