Beneath the Howling Pines
“They want you to come to the council tonight.”
I nodded. The elders’ council was where secrets lived — where truths were whispered and decisions carved into the future. I wasn’t sure if I was ready, but I had no choice.
As the sun dipped, I made my way to the old stone circle deep in the heart of the forest. The air was cooler here, thick with the scent of pine and earth. Shadows pooled between the stones, and the moon hung low, a silver guardian in the sky.
The elders sat in a tight circle, faces lined with age and wisdom. Their eyes held stories of battles, love, loss, and sacrifice. When I stepped into their midst, silence fell like a shroud.
