The only sound Aurora could hear was his breathing, his flaring nostrils as he took in Aurora’s scent. Realization struck him, followed by anger, “She’s a human”, he managed to say angrily. I wasn't convinced, but I brushed it off nonetheless.

LUCIAN POV I growl as Alpha Bietio rattles off news of packs moving against humans around the world in Portuguese. I don't need to know any of this information right now. I need to know how my second is doing. I need to call our emergency cells to see if he picked one up, and Alpha Bietio won't hand over the only phone they have. As he hears my growl, his eyes flash yellow, and he shows me his fangs.
