REKINDLED LOVE
Familiar with his hiding spots, I climb down to the basement, knowing exactly where he usually goes.
The silhouette of Miles' figure on the hidden balcony greets me. I wrap my arms around his waist, expecting the usual warm hug, but it doesn't come. I sense that I've hurt him, and I know I have a lot of apologizing to do.
“Miles, I don't even understand why you're angry at me. It's not like I kissed the man. It was just a hug,” I explain, frustration evident in my voice.
Miles sighs, turning in my arms and finally hugging me back. I can't help but compare his embrace to Alpha Xander's, feeling a pang of guilt for enjoying it more.
