Suddenly, his gaze frowns at the big monitor. He saw someone with a frilly dress sitting leisurely while three boys were fighting a monster that looked like a rabbit with a scythe in its hand. The rabbit was two metres in size and it was swinging its scythe dangerously to the three that were attacking it. “Big, Big Sis! This rabbit is too strong!” One of the boys, Heiytu Amiba, said to the person that Vaans had frowned upon. “I know but don’t you think the weapon is a little big for its size? Why not get it and use it for your own.” The person, who was a girl, smiled.

The rabbit was struggling, letting out terrified squeals. "Stop it!" I yelled, rushing forward and snatching the rabbit from his grasp. The boy looked up at me, his face hostile. His canines were already elongated, far too sharp for a ten-year-old. "Who are you?" he demanded, getting to his feet. He was already almost as tall as me. "What gives you the right?"

I decided to go for a run to channel my energy, given that watching TV wasn't appealing in the morning after a night of screen time. As I stepped outside, a strange noise from the nearby bushes caught my attention. My curiosity got the best of me, and I cautiously approached, only to find a rabbit trapped in a hole, struggling to get out. "Hey there, little guy, are you stuck?" I spoke softly, my heart filled with empathy. I knelt down and gently helped the distressed rabbit out of the hole. Its fur was matted and bloodied, evidence of a recent altercation. I couldn't leave it in that condition.

His eyes fluttered open, and in an instant, he lunged forward, his hands grabbing the rabbit from my grasp. I watched, awe-struck, as he sank his teeth into the creature’s neck, blood flowing from the rabbit into his waiting mouth. It was a primal sight, a stark reminder of the nature of his kind. My heart raced, a mixture of fear and relief flooding through me. He was feeding. He was fighting back.

I took it close to my chest caressing carefully. So cute!! "What are you doing, haan?" Mr. Jerk forcefully pulled my arm making me look at him. Now his furious face is not making me hateful because this white ball is so cute that I can't be angry now. I'm happy. "See! It's the pinkish color at the nose and ear... So cute na!" I chirped, he looked at my hand and then at me. "Rabbit..." He gave me an annoyed look. "Hmm," I hummed at him in excitement.

Hearing that, the rabbit stomps her foot on my feet again— and with a quick pace. “No gambling.” I uttered. “Don’t you want to be rich?” “Money doesn’t matter here on this island.” “Cheh, stingy.” He muttered. “Here, stupid rabbit. A carrot.” CHOMP. The pink rabbit then takes a bite— on his finger instead of the carrot. “GYAHH…!!? SHE BIT ME…!!!” While flinging his finger off from her mouth, he blows his injured finger while healing it with his magic. “She understands what you are saying, you know.” I said to him.

What if it's Bigfoot? Out of sudden urge, I fling my arm backwards and slice my knife through the air with a loud and defensive wail. But when my knife punctures nothing but the tree next to me and when I realize the only thing that was approaching me was a Rabbit, I feel more than foolish. I remove my knife from out of the tree and stare at the Rabbit. It stares up at me and wiggles its nose a few times before clapping its paws together and continuing to stare at me with no fear or precaution in its stance.

“Fuck you, Nyx.” “Oh, hush. You were always so dramatic.” Something flickers beside me. A shape that I recognize. Small and white, fading in and out of existence like rapid pulses. “Bubbles?” I whisper. The rabbit flickers into full form for a breath, her ears flattened, fur standing on end, eyes glowing faintly gold. Then she vanishes again. Nyxara rolls her eyes. “Oh, for the love of the old gods, stay still, sister. You’re giving me a headache.”

But I had to control my anger. He walked into a small clearing where I could hear the sqeals of an animal. It was clearly in pain and possibly trapped. Kieran took a few huge steps ahead of me and dropped on one knee where the sqeals were coming from. Looking over his shoulder, I realized that it was a rabbit caught in one of Kieran's traps. It had a small arrowhead piercing through its side and lodged deeply into the side. However, for some reason, it was still alive.
