I frowned, slightly annoyed that I lost my fame just because I lost my helmet.

I looked down at what I was wearing which was my Version trainee uniform. A sleeveless shirt with a hood with my symbol above my heart and normal long black pants.
" Don't you need it to protect yourself?"

I answered casually as I checked all my gears.

I look up just to have something going over my head and before I knew it I was staring at Rookie's ocean blue eyes through bars.

" It's a knight helmet where the chin piece is able to come off. It makes it easier to drink or eat but the visor is on the inside. So it's unable to slide upwards like other helmets, but that's good for you since you're hiding from someone... right?"
" It's perfect, but what about you? Don't you need it?"
" I'm wearing full armor, I think I can avoid landing on my head for a couple of days."

I order as he taps the helmet.
.... This is my first time receiving something from someone. Rookie just smiled happily at my response.
" Weren't you about to pick a place?"
I snapped back to reality and led him deeper into the forest when I smell something. ....
I signal him to stop as I sniff the area carefully.
Fear suddenly hits me as the familiar strong smell of rot and human blood. .... fresh human blood and grime. Hits my nose like a slap to the face. This could only be the smell of!! I thought as I dashed into the forest.
(Flashback: *Screams. Even with my eyes open, I still could hear the cries of those girls. Those screams... Sometimes still, haunt me through the starless nights.)
Very Close. I thought as I followed the smell to a narrow cave where there was a staff with a skull on it along with twigs and feathers. A Goblin totem there must be a mage goblin down there.
(Flashback: *huge flames* *People screaming* Even with my eyes open I could see the bright blaze spreading throughout a village as everyone screamed and ran.)
Rage filled me as I take the totem and smashed the top against the cave opening.
(Flashback: " It hurts! *Sobs* Please. .. stop! * whimpering *" I could still remember how I begged and begged that day. Begged alongside countless other girls in the same situation as me, but no matter how we begged, they didn't stop. * Goblins laughing * Rather, those green demons laughed at our faces, amused at it all.)
I ran deeper into the cave while holding the staff again the cave wall until it lit up from all the fiction, creating a torch.
(Flashback: I could still remember gasping for breath as I did my best to stay conscious as they... as those... Goblins took turns.)
The screams came from my right. I stopped and started walking down the tunnel.
(Flashback: I could remember myself choking as those... evil Goblin pushed it deeper down every hole I had.)

I laughed this time more powerful than I used to be, this time ready to kill every last one of them.

I start scouting around for any traces of him but I soon came upon a very familiar footprint.
" As big as my palm. Must be a Goblin.... maybe he caught wind of this?"
What the fu** was that?! I thought as I turned to the sound.
I cautiously walked towards the sound which led me to a hole with smoke coming out of it.
Suddenly someone grabs my arm and pulls itself out of the hole.
" V!- Shinigami?! I almost didn't recognize you with all that blood!"
I said in shock as I helped him out of the hole. He didn't give me any eye contact and kept staring at a sword in silence.
He said sadly as he warps 5 porcelain tags onto the sword and slowly walks towards a tree.
" Rookie mistake, using a long sword in a narrow cave."
He whispers to himself as he stabs the sword in front of a tree. The tags hung from it like a grave.

I grabbed his arm and pulled him to face me but V7 immediately pulled his arm away from me and ran deeper into the forest.

In all the time I spent with him... he has never shed a tear..... I did go further back in time than I did last time..... Anger suddenly consumes me.
This is all the Hilldale Guild's Fault!! I checked which guild they came from. Adventure Guild! No surprise there! I ran back to the village and stormed right into the Guild's front desk.
" Hikaru! What a surprise! Are you?"
The guild worker chimed but I didn't bother to let him finish.
" How can you do it? How can you sleep at night knowing that you just sent five rookies to their death?!!!"
I thundered as I smashed my fist onto his desk breaking the wood where my fist impacted on.
He squeaked out as he leaned backward away from me.
" You knew! You knew that those Rookies had no chance against a Goblin Nest!! And yet you allowed them that quest!!"
" It was an emergency! They had kidnapped the client's daughter but he was just a farmer. So the pay was low! No one else that was experienced enough wanted to take the quest!!"

I yelled at the worker with all my breath and my voice echoed throughout the whole guild.
A person from one of the tables yelled out at me. I turned to the person, he was a ruby-ranked member and he shot me a glare.
" You may be a big shot from where you came from but that doesn't mean you can go around bullying people! They deserved what they got!"

The ruby rank knight chimed as he took another swing of his beer. The urge to jump at him and rip his throat out was screaming into my every muscle, but I knew if I did that here..... I would lose the backup V7 might need.

I spat back at him and left. No wonder V7 will grow to hate humans, I always thought it was because he was bullied for being different.

There he was, standing naked in the river washing away the blood on his clothes. I watched as a drop of water fell from the tips of his wet raven black bangs that almost touched one of his pale green eyes. The drop hits his chest and travels down his slim-fit torso. I could feel myself heating up, I immediately looked away embarrassed and guilty as if I was peeking at a lady but I wasn't!! Why did I stop myself from seeing it all?? Wait!! Why am I asking myself this??!! Did I want to see it all?!?! I have seen men bathing before!! So why is this so different?!!!

V7 brought his knees to his face and hugs them tightly. I then noticed something in the water. There's something shining in the water.... could it be the sun reflecting on something? Suddenly a familiar deep soothing singing fills the air.

V7 is singing?! Holy S**** He can sing?! And this well??!!!!! Why did he stop??? I stood in shock as the familiar song softly lulls me. It was the traditional Version's song, a prayer for forgiveness to those who met their end before fulfilling their purpose in life because they were too late or incompetent to save them.
Starting to think about it his daughter did have a beautiful singing voice. I always thought it came from the mother.... since V7 never talks about her... Whatever did happen to her?

If I remember correctly...Version 4 told me that. V7's wife was murdered by a pirate and he sails the corners of the seas looking for his revenge, returning only once in 3 months to see his daughter. Around the time she turned 1 was when he stopped because his daughter started crying for him. That was when he realized that if he kept revenge in his heart, he would miss out on everything.

In front of V7 was a young mermaid, with glowing blue eyes, Dark blue hair, light blue tail. I thought I was dreaming of the goddesses of beauty for a minute. She starts singing a beautiful melody as she swims further into the river and then circles back again...Is this supposed to happen?. .... or this could be one of the effects of my traveling back in time! I worried as I watched his reaction.
