I felt numb like I was out of my body, hollow and useless. *Fuck no, fuck no!! This is not up for negotiation. We’re not letting him control us,* my tiger said, pissed off. *There’s little choice,* I said. *I’ll shift and kill him, there’s always a choice,* he said. *He’d kill us in a second, not to mention the other four pairs of eyes on us now from the windows,* I said, matter of fact.

I feel my eyes fill with unshed tears as his hold on my chin gets more painful. “Get this in your head…love…” he hisses at me with his fury. His eyes seem to look much more demonic when he is angered. The intensity in his eyes , overwhelm me making my tummy pain with scared butterflies. I begin to whimper , trying to pull away from him but this only seems to make him much more angry. He grabs my arm , luckily the arm that was free from any wounds , and pulled me closer to him so that I would not be able to move away from him.

Tiger shot me a murderous glare with his reddened eyes, I knew that I should have kept my mouth shut. "Get the fuck out!" He thundered one more time. Terry crawled out of the room, leaving a messy trail of blood behind him. Tiger slammed the door after him and locked it noisily. I was already shaking, silently urging the cuff to release me. There was this unspoken air of menace around him, as he took long strides towards the bed where I was cuffed to. He flopped on the bed violently, the movement making me bounce on the bed. His eyes seemed, to me, like little fiery balls of fire, I was so scared to even look into his eyes.

My eyes felt wet, hot tears slipping down from my cheek, blurring his furious face. "I bought you, Lina, and you have no right to call out any man's name in this house!" he roared, his voice laced with a terrifying possessiveness. I could see anger seething in his eyes, a dark, burning fire that threatened to consume me. His teeth were gritting, a harsh, rasping sound, and a faint drool appeared at the corner of his mouth, making him look truly monstrous, like a wild beast. What kind of beast is this? I thought, my mind reeling in terror.

Then Kenny changed. Not completely. Not the dramatic Hollywood version I would have imagined if anyone had asked me to imagine it, which no one ever had because this wasn't something people imagined. It was subtler and more terrifying than that. His eyes changed first — deepening to something amber and luminous that had nothing to do with the warm brown I knew. His frame expanded slightly, shoulders broadening, presence intensifying until he filled the room in a way that had nothing to do with physical size. The air around him hummed.

NARRATIVE POV Raven dropped to her knees before her abused tiger mate. Her eyes were glossy with tears rushing to roll over. She stretched out her arm, her hand trembled as she gently rubbed the rough contours of the tiger's face. The scars made him appear like a villain in a Disney movie. He would terrify anyone who came upon him, more so than a typical tiger might. He looked feral and rabid, but when her palm cupped his furry cheek, his head tilted and leaned into her touch.
