HIS MINI BEAR
He stared at Snack, clearly not expecting to find a eyepop in the middle of whatever business he had walked into.
"Nuisance," I muttered under my breath, not bothering to hide the irritation that crept into my voice.
Mini, however, was quick to defend her beloved pet. She shot me a sharp look, her eyes narrowing in a way that dared me to say something more. Without a second thought, she slapped my chest lightly.
"It's Snack. My pet," she said, her voice bubbling with pride and affection.
Her eyes softened as she gazed down at the gerbil, who was now munching on a tiny seed.
