Last email I got from them, he was close to being healed enough to be released back into the wild.”

A mad grin suddenly formed on her face as she rushed again at him in an incredible burst of speed. Sol calmly avoided some of them while retaliating from time to time. From what he knew, the rabbitmen were just a D rank race. Meaning they didn't even have horns. Still, they were quite powerful and their greatest strengths was their speed and the power of their feet. Just as he blocked a heavy hit from her and took a step back, Sol immediately felt his back tingling. Moving his body in a rather unnatural way, he let himself fall and avoided an arrow that went past his previous position.

A red-haired guy was smiling, holding up a beer with his arm slung across Hibiki’s shoulders. “That must be Rickie. Hibiki’s friend from the force. The guy who told him about the copycat Kitsune.” I nodded. “Wait, Copycat Kitsune? What?” they asked in almost unison, their voices overlapping. I laughed. “I read the email they sent before opening the image file. There’s a copycat, Kitsune. I left off with Yūri leaving Hibiki’s place so he could discuss it further with Rickie. I’m guessing she didn’t take someone copying her well.” I nodded. “Forget the pictures. Was there more to the email?” Darius asked, closing the zip file and bringing up my email instead.

If anything, maybe this night will end with me getting laid. Brianna was cute. She had long brunette hair that was secured in a ponytail, excitable green eyes, freckles, a nose that was almost too perfect, and plump pink lips. I picked up the drink, held it between us. “Is this… a peace offering?” Still nothing. I sighed, shifting to face him more directly. “Look. It seems like every time I see you, I owe you an apology, and I hate that I’m saying this again, but—I’m sorry. For last time.”

His voice had uncertainty, as if he wasn’t sure what he saw. “A bunny?” My eyes fluttered open, and my gaze went to where he was staring. He was right. There was a cute, little, fuzzy white rabbit staring at us. What was a rabbit doing in The Intertwine? It was odd. A place that was the home of monsters was also the home of an innocent bunny rabbit? How come? The little creature hopped towards me, and a low growl rumbled in Raphael’s chest. He pulled me behind him, blocking me from it.
