Before she could react Seb flinched and moved his hand away. What a strange reaction she thought. Anyone would think Seb was repulsed by her. Piper climbed the steps to the bar and ordered another round of drinks. Based on the amount they had already consumed, it looked like it was going to be a late night for the three of them.

Piper "You guys, please stop," Eve pleaded to her friends, acting the part of the suffering peacekeeper. "Piper, don't mind them. Let's just go." She stepped closer, wrapping her arm around mine in a forced hug. I let out a sigh, the exhaustion of the morning finally catching up to me. I pulled my arm out of her grasp and looked her dead in the eye. "Eve, I honestly don't have time for whatever game you're playing right now. Stop bothering me."
