Post-it notes suggested that the person leaving them had decided, for whatever reason, to operate outside the system. The note was yellow. It said: Coffee. Not here. 10am. Come find me. No name. She didn't need one she'd only been here two weeks but she already knew Marcus Reid's handwriting the way you learned things about people without trying, the large loose letters of someone who thought faster than he wrote and had made peace with this.

I never really bought into fairy tales; those stories seemed too good to be true. After losing my parents, I realized everything has its expiration date. The impending end of my relationship with Mario is almost palpable. Despite the chaos brewing, my feet stay firmly planted on the ground. Now, about that mysterious note – being at the Princetons’, I figure they’ve probably left one at my house. The thought makes my heart skip a beat. “Who’s trying to blackmail me?” I type on my notes app with determination.

I sighed and turned to the side table to find my phone so that I could check on the time when I found a note. "Last night was amazing. But don't drink that much again. D.S." Oh no.

And whatever’s coming… I’m not ready for it. I reach into the drawer. Kaelen’s note is still there. We need to talk soon. Yeah. We really do.

Hey there, fabulous readers! Exciting news – I'm penning my inaugural "Author's Note" for this book. Why now? Well, because I just stumbled upon this sneaky little button in the corner, inviting me to add more notes. I swear, I've been as blind as a bat! But can you really blame me? I'm more like a copy-paste person. But enough about my technological misadventures, let's talk about you guys.

This time, it only said: “Still watching.” No signature. Just the same black ink. Same neat handwriting. I stared at the note, pulse roaring in my ears. No. Not again. Not today.

It already had what it wanted. “I’m not leaving until I understand this.” My voice sounded jagged, like something had broken inside it. Marcus exhaled, steady but strained. “We found a note.” I turned sharply. “What note?” He gestured to one of the guards, who reluctantly stepped forward and handed me a folded sheet of paper. It was thin, cheap, probably torn from a pad. My name was written on the outside. Just my name. No threats. No theatrics. No theatrics meant confidence.

I looked around and noticed something red in the corner of my eye—a rose on my bedside table with a note underneath. The note said, "I stopped by last night, and your door was unlocked! I thought I'd come in and find you, but you weren't there. Why was your door unlocked? I won't be around today; I have some things to take care of. You won't even notice I'm gone, so don't worry. I'll still be watching you. I'll be back tonight, not too late. I can't wait to see you again."

I guess luck is on my side, huh? There are straight, zigzag, E, C, and other routes but nah, who cares about those when there is a pretty awesome route right where I'm staring at? Ten tenenenen!

...... I growled in pain as I saw the note attached to the fridge. "Arghhh" I screamed as I pulled my hair. I totally forgot I was going to start that stupid training. Bree I know you would have forgot about your training with your brother today that is why I'm writing this note to remind you. I left some cooked spaghetti in the fridge, heat it up together with the sauce and have that for lunch, don't forget to call your brother when you are well rested.
