That was the ringtone for my alarm. I hurriedly grabbed my phone with shaky hands as I glanced at the date and I audibly gasped in shock. The date was staring right at me, unblinking and I had to rub my eyes to be sure I wasn't hallucinating. It was indeed June 19th, 2665. The apocalypse happened July 19th. One month from today. I refused to believe that this was real. There was no way that I woke up one month before the city of Sloradath was reduced to ruins. But I knew everything that happened was too real to be a dream.

“We’re in fucking Ragnarok.” Perhaps it comforted him to think that his love had been taken from him because it was the end of the world. Then again, perhaps he was right. Perhaps the Nightfall had only been the first stage of an even greater apocalypse—one that Salem, with all his new power, would bring about. I didn’t intend to listen, but something about the seriousness in her voice made me stop. “I went after the apocalypse,” She said quietly. “I tried to reach you, Cairos, but there was no way to communicate with anyone. Everything had collapsed, and I didn’t know where you were.”
