Out of the corner of my eye, I saw them. Cael Ardent and the other two were huddled in the corner, sneaking glances at me, their eyes filled with both fear and expectation. I said nothing. I tore off a chunk of meat from the boar and tossed it over. "Eat. Don’t hold back." Then I turned, built a fire with the wood, and skewered a piece of meat on a branch, holding it over the flames. The cave fell into deathly silence. They stared at the meat in their hands, eyes nearly bulging, throats bobbing as they swallowed.

To enter such a secret auction, you need a stamp of their sigil - a crow. Crows are said to be known for their clairvoyance and foresight. But the crow being used in the Order has a deeper meaning. Because they are considered wise, they are also known to bring death to your doorstep. That is why The Order is using this magnificent bird to spread the idea that although the crow would lead you to heaven upon death, this only masks their true ideal - power.

They never saw the group coming. Marco and one of his men took them down with brutal efficiency, and then they were inside. The air burned with chemical fumes, stinging Elena’s eyes and throat. Around a dozen men worked at tables covered in white powder. Shock registered on their faces as armed strangers stormed in. Some reached for weapons. Others froze.

Bianca woke up as a Queen and no wild flying bird objected to her reign. As the crows soared through the moonlit sky, their numbers began to multiply. One by one, more joined the flock, their glossy black feathers glistening in the pale light. The flapping of their wings echoed in the stillness of the night as they came together, united by their shared mission. With each passing moment, the flock grew larger, like an unstoppable force gathering strength. The crows cawed with determination, their voices echoing through the dense forest. They flew through the trees, their wings beating in perfect harmony, their beady eyes focused on the goal ahead.

I replied and earned a wolfish smile from him. Nora, on the other hand, had stopped crying and was looking at the crow on top of a tree branch. It was looking at us with midnight blue eyes, which makes me wonder if crows have such an eye color. But Nora didn't seem to mind as she beamed and pointed at it with her finger."Aish!" She said. The snake was on the move again and slithering really fast towards us. "Ren!" I said, trying to warn him of what was coming.

It perched on her shoulder with eerie silence, head tilting, watching. Gasps rippled through the amphitheater. Gloria followed. Her crow was rawboned and mean, talons like shards of onyx, beak dripping a sheen of spectral oil. It let out a harsh, jagged caw that echoed through the rafters before taking to the beams above. Its eyes swept the room like prey. Patricia came next, rolling her shoulders with an arrogant smile. Her crow was smaller, but its eyes glowed an unnatural violet—the mark of a mimic, a rare spell-weaver capable of channeling and twisting magic through its song. A weapon in its own right.

The flame had gone out and only the glow of the moon seemed to give Godric a little light. A crow had ventured onto the old masonry and announced its presence. The young priest's heart had slipped into his black robe. He had expected everything at night, but not to get such a shock. How long had he stood there just to be so lost in his thoughts? I know my cousin and Celeste must know I’m here lurking, but they do not give me away as they are gathered around a maple tree. Red maples are known for being resilient and beautiful all year long. I can tell this tree is newer to the Earth as it stands only about ten feet or so tall. It's leaves are a vibrant red and catch the fading light beautifully.

The whole room was filled with his laughter for a few seconds. “Who made you think I’ll kneel to anyone?” My heart was beating so fast. Not in a good way. But I was nervous for Alpha Kai’s sake at this point. He might even be cut off from limb to limb, burned alive, or skewered like a barbecue. That’s how barbaric these Red Crows are to their enemies. If the twin pack were horrible, they are not compared to how disgusting these crows hunt. They kill for fun. They kill because they wanted to.
