"I—I was just leaving—" "You're under arrest for embezzlement and fraud. Turn around, please." "No! Wait!" Adrian tried to back away but officers blocked his path. "I can explain! It was a misunderstanding with the accounts—" "You stole millions from Shelby Walton while she was in a coma, Mr. Smith. That's not a misunderstanding." The detective cuffed him without pity. "You have the right to remain silent..." The entire reception had descended into chaos. Guests were pulling out phones, recording everything. The wedding photographer was still snapping pictures, capturing Sarah and Adrian being arrested at what should have been a joyous celebration.

Made him believe this was his best option. The cameras. Rowan pulled out his phone, pulling up the security feed. The basement camera showed exactly what he was seeing now—Maxwell hanging, the room undisturbed, everything seemingly normal. He scrolled back through the timeline. 5:00 PM—Maxwell still in his chair, looking defeated but alive. 5:05 PM—the same. 5:15 The feed glitched. Just for a second, a barely noticeable jump in the timestamp. Rowan's blood ran cold. He rewound and watched again. There—between 5:15 and 5:30PM, exactly fifteen minutes of footage that repeated itself. A loop so subtle he'd almost missed it.

I concluded as I glanced at Aramis. "I'm checking that video again." I muttered and waltzed out. Brandon and Aramis also followed suit. I sat on a swivel chair alongside Brandon and Aramis as we replayed the footage again, watching it intently. Truly, I saw her slip and fell into the pool but then I noticed something and I quickly paused the video and replayed it again. There was a fast forward timing and our mouths hung open as soon as the realisation hits us. "A part of the footage was erased!"

Third Person POV A few minutes later, one of the team members rushed in. “We’ve got footage from the building across the street,” he said. “They gave us access.” Lucas didn’t hesitate. “Play it.” The footage came up on the main screen. Everyone leaned in. Emily’s car appeared, pulling into the garage. Everything looked normal. Then.... The screen glitched. Static. Distortion. Then gone. Lucas cursed under his breath. “The jammer hit everything.” Clover narrowed her eyes, thinking. Hard. Then... “Wait,” she said.

But halfway through, the video glitched. The next image wasn’t part of their brand. It was Brian. A shaky, grainy clip of him doing something… unspeakable. The room fell into a stunned silence. Gasps erupted from the crowd, and Brian’s face turned as white as a ghost. I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees, watching the chaos unfold. “Oops,” I muttered under my breath, the smirk widening. Diego’s voice cracked as he tried to regain control. But it was too late. The damage was done, and every eye in the room was on the brothers. Exactly where I wanted them.

Mitch is still at the table, but she too is asleep, slumped over, head resting on folded arms. I make a fresh pot of coffee and resume my post, setting the video to play at double-speed to save time, scanning image after useless image, this time of shots taken in the parking lot. A few dozen blurry shots of an ambulance with, as it's turned out, fake plates, before it vanishes off-camera. I down another coffee, then realise I'm rubbing my temples, trying to ease away the stress stabbing behind my eyes. Tossing back a couple of painkillers with a mouthful of water, I watch the footage from the security cameras again...

“We can play the blooper reel at the Christmas party.” “And take a shot for every time he says fuck,” Tyler chimes in, laughing. “Well, I think that means I'm doing this,” I chuckle. If my team need to see me making a fool of myself for some laughs then that's what I'll give them. When the meeting ends, everyone gets up to leave but I go up to my office to copy the footage from the elevator onto a disc. I plan on taking it to the police this afternoon. When I get down to the parking garage I hear someone trying to start up their car but failing. I dump my stuff on the passenger seat of my Rover and come to help.

Right in front…Laughing like they had just watched the best comedy special of the century. I skidded to a confused half-stop. “What’s… what’s you on?” I panted, bending over like an asthmatic horse. Adrian grinned. “It was just a prank though.” Echo added, giggling, “There’s no pull. You can relax.” I stared… At both of them… At their stupid, laughing faces, trying to confirm if they were for real or not. Nope. I didn’t trust them. Instead of stopping properly… I turned in the opposite direction and started running again.

Realizing the commission outside, Micheal's guards immediately rushed outside as they shoved the paparazzi out of the way making it easier for Micheal and Nico to enter the company. As they were almost at the entrance of the company, Micheal's movements were suddenly halted as one of the paparazzis' outbursts made his blood boil, "Mister Adams is it true that the reason for your sudden arrest was because of the blind woman that you're having an affair with?" He asked as Micheal slowly turned around with flared nostrils and dark eyes, "What the f**k did you just say?" He asked as all noises around him boiled down, "I-I, you s-sudden arrest-

But what he does next is exactly what forced him to delete the footage. He waits near the elevators but his usual and unconscious habit destroys the deception that he had been playing. He lifts his hat up and then brings it back down twice before realizing what he did. His light brown head snaps towards the camera in the corner and a look of horror crosses his face, as if he had been exposed. Adair pauses the footage right on his revolting face making me want to puke. All eyes are on me and I stand there frozen in my spot unable to move my eyes away from he screen. It's like someone had knocked all the wind out of me and I don't even know how I'm still standing.
